The beaches of Santa Monica attract all sorts of visitors-- don't be surprised to see families playing on the sand next to a boot-camp fitness class with a barking instructor. Visit the Santa Monica Pier, a haven of shops, restaurants, and carnival attractions (including a Ferris wheel) atop a wooden wharf. By night, the Third Street Promenade is the place to be, bustling with activity from moviegoers, party animals, and talented street performers.

This budget motel in a humble low-rise building is 1 mile from Santa Monica State Beach, Santa Monica Pier and the shopping and restaurants at the Third Street Promenade. Exterior corridors lead to unassuming rooms featuring ceiling fans, cable TV, free Wi-Fi and shower-only en suite bathrooms.
The hotel is out of the way of the traffic around Six Flags and was very convenient for our visit with family and exploring. The room was clean and serviced every day. Parking was free and the room rates were very reasonable.

This place is beautiful on the outside, but maybe instead of the owner cruising in a brand new Corvette convertible he could put a bit of money on the rooms and this place would be a real charm...Certainly has potential but is rather rundown as it sits.

*All request, including room type, are non-guaranteed and shall be honored depending on availability at check-in.* We are a small and basic motel. To noise sensitive; we are behind the Jack in the Box(fastfood chain) and the night Bar name TriP. Welcome to Rest Haven Motel, Santa Monica !!! Feel good in this neighborhood if you would! This is an economy motel conveniently located in Lincoln Blvd and Grant Street just 20 minutes walk to the Third Street Promenade in downtown Santa Monica and the famous Santa Monica Pier where fun and enjoyment can be had beyond compare. The place is quite accessible to many other favorite tourists' haunts known the world over like Venice Beach, Malibu, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Universal Studio, Disneyland, and more which makes every stay a pleasure. Built in 1938..."A marvelous experience"...
Motel was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a jack n the box next door and a 7 eleven and Starbucks down the street. Really enjoyed our stay not far from pier and beach . Will return again!

Checked in at reception which looked dirty and rundown and smelled of stale cigarettes.. they keep the laundry in there too which instantly put me off! We then get to the room.. the floor was filthy, the sheets were stained and the whole place stank. There was around 10 crickets crawling on the floor, another 5 in the bathroom.. we pulled back the sheets because they were filthy and another 5 was under the sheets, pulled the mattress up and to no surprise more crawled out. We went to a laundrette down the road to ask if there was any local shops open to get fresh sheets and they gave us fresh bedding and a pillow. I wouldn’t have stayed there otherwise. The place/room was like a scene from a horror movie but it was in a great location and the area around was lovely. To make things worse there was a guy that lived there that was insane and extremely disruptive, swearing all the time and calling everyone bi****s. He made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe and the guy on reception just kept shouting at him telling him to ‘go back to your room you n***a. The whole experience was awful tbh.. I don’t mind staying in cheap places as we’re always out but this was a joke. Avoid!
