Find out what Middle Eastern restaurants to try in Aix-en-Provence. Aix, a graceful, lively city, is known for its thermal hot springs, art schools and universities. Wander the Cours, old town and Quartier Mazarin on foot, stopping at cafés, bookstores and markets. Kids whining? Have them count fountains… Aix reportedly has 1,000 of them.

A great Middle Eastern restaurant in rue Felibre Gaut in Aix, with seating inside and outside.Excellent 15 euro formule lunch - a choice of Middle Eastern starters with flatbreads, then two brochettes of either lamb or chicken with rice, followed by fruit salad or ice cream.Lovely food, good service, great ambience. Good toilets too!

The warm welcome extended by the Boumezza brothers, Hicham and Morad, who run this authentic Maroccan restaurant, is only the beginning of a great dining experience, tasting a variety of typical traditional dishes and their authentic flavoursWhenever we leave for Aix we reserve a "table marocaine" for two.Willem & Gina

Au p'tit tajine

If you like home-style oriental food, this is a place for you. I had a lunch (lamb tajine with figs). There are other flavours for couscous and tajine, as well as good-value looking sets for big eaters. Very tasty, professionally spiced. Service friendly and efficient. To take into account: the place is very small indeed (5 tables); no alcohol. Strongly recommended for those with priority of taste over formal attributes.

Pittz

Welcome to Pittz, the first Falafel dedicated restaurant in Aix ! Our excellent pita bread and our home made Falafel will surprise you by its freshness and its taste. Test it and love it. We use more than ten different ingedients to make our pita Falafel.

Good flavour, fresh ingredients and made to order. The vegetables are a good mix and the falafel are crispier than I usually have, which I prefer. I would have prefered the pita be heated on a grill rather than in a microwave. Service was ok. Would recommend.Hello and thank you for your kind comment. I am happy to know that you liked our pita falafel. Regarding your remarks about the way we heat the pita bread, please note that we have a classical oven and regularily heat the pita breads with it upon simple request : just tell us to avoid the microwave oven and we will do so.Please also note that we have two wave detectors and use them constantly to check the waves level of the oven. Why two detectors ? (different brands) because we consider one reading unreliable unless we can confirm it with a second matching reading coming from another source. In this way we make sure that the reading is accurate and reliable.Reading the wave emission level also comes to protect ourselves and our visitors of course : microwave radiation is potentially unhealthy and can easily spread in the room. we tolerate no emission from any side of the microwave oven over 3-5cm away from it,By the way, we use low wave emission ovens, and have a process which greatly limits the wave used.I hope I made you change you mind :))All the best
