I just came out of Taco Corner 2 after spending a little over $10 to stuff my face with two tacos barbacoa and one chorizo, washed it down with an aqua de horchata and Iâm having trouble typing Iâm so full. This is a locals joint favored by the Latino community. Most people got takeout while I ate at a clean but well worn booth. Unfortunately, Taco Corner 2 is adjacent to the extremely shady Thomasville Inn - a flop house that seems to be the hangout for suspicious looking folks. I recommend the restaurant, but be vigilant walking to and from your vehicle. Go for lunch or before the dark of night and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Stopped in and ordered late in drive thru. We ordered 3 fresco tacos a gordita meal and a beefy 5 layer. The food was excellent. Most taco bells skimp on the toppings. Not this one. The food actually looked like it does in the pics they use for advertising. Keep up the good work

This is not what we would call a great Mexican restaurant , but it is, very good. Service is good and food is always prepared well with generous portions.

Friday night, having read the two previous reviews, we had some misgivings as we came in from out of town and the neighborhood being semi-industrial didn't help. The property itself is attractive. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The waitress was polite and professional. The exceptional part was the food. We both got shrimp (camerone) dishes. Mine was Camerones Cancun; I don't know what hers was called but was very similar. Both had a large quantity of medium sized shrimp combined with fresh avocados and roasted vegetables. Salsa was thick and spice. Milady remarked that she had never had food like this at a Mexican restaurant. We were just passing through town but would definitely seek this place out if we ever found ourselves in Chair City again.

This was our first visit to Taco Lopez. We decided to eat here based on other Trip Advisor reviews. Parking is available on the street. Inside, the restaurant is clean, attractive, and nicely decorated. The posted food inspection score is 98.5. The booths are comfortable. They serve both Mexican and Salvadorian food. The menus are large and colorful with many choices. The menus are also bi-lingual with both English and Spanish information. There are also nice clear photos of the plates of food on the menu. Their menu items include: salads, sides, soups, a kids menu, and lunch specials good from 11 am - 3 pm. They also have desserts, drinks, dips, burritos, some typical Mexican entrees, sopes, tacos, tortas, and gorditas. They also have some typical Salvadorian items, pupusas, chicken, steak, seafood, fajitas, and quesadillas. I had the Carne Asada or Grilled Steak platter ($10.99). My meal was beautifully presented on an extra large rectangular platter. On it were generous portions of beans, rice, two extra large pieces of thin grilled steak, pico de gallo and a large salad. My plate was so pretty, it could have been a photo on the menu. I also was given 4 tortillas. Everything was very fresh, well prepared and delicious. My salad included: lettuce, tomato, onion, radish, cucumber and avocado. My husband got the Alambre Quesadillas with rice and beans ($9.99). The gentleman running the front of the restaurant was very busy. There were lots of to go orders, as well as people eating in the restaurant. He was very nice and attentive and stopped by our table numerous times to check on us and asked if we liked the food. The answer was always yes, we love it! They have color copies of their menus that you can take home and use to order take out or just to decide what you'll order on your next visit. We are certainly adding Taco Lopez to our list of restaurants we will visit often. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a great meal at this hidden gem of a restaurant!

We have eaten here a couple of times and find the food and service to be just average at best. The dishes are very plain with little seasoning and serving size is smaller than other Mexican restaurants we have tried.
