First let me start off by saying the staff was very friendly. I have Celiac and they were very knowledgeable about it. The food just didnât do it for me though. The chips and salsa were unimpressive, I like mine spicy though. The carne asada tacos were extremely greasy and unappetizing. I ended up not eating them. Loved the rice and beans though. My fiancé said his wasnât too bad but nothing impressive. So l gave them a three but would give a five for service and a two for the food.

To look at the place you would never enter unless someone had recommended it. There are only about six tables. The service prompt and friendly, the food always tasty, and the prices are low. I have never had a meal there that I didn't like. In my opinion this is the best Mexican food in Peoria or anyplace nearby.

My wife and I ate lunch here 6/26/2016. My wife ordered Pollo Ranchero $7.00 and I ordered a fried chicken chimichanga $6.75.My wife said her selection was very good and an ample portion. My chimichanga was a very thin tortilla - - not much chicken and the refried beans were watery. I felt my selection was very skimpy. We each ordered glasses of water which we could not drink - - there was a strong taste of sulfur in it.Service was fast.

Did an early lunch. Just looking for something small. The service and servers were great. The shrimp soup is fresh and excellent, particularly if you sprinkle in the peppers they give you. The flan is unbelievable. So happy we stopped in!

Have visited Cayenne a few times. Most recently our party of 3 shared the Trifecta, tortilla chips served with guacamole, salsa & queso, so good! This time I had the Cowboy Up (brisket) Taco & the Cheeseburger Taco. So many choices, will have to return to try more of the taco offerings.
