Here for dinner on a hot day. Got our usual salad bowl. Same meats and fillings as always and two fountain drinks. Bill was about $3-4 higher then I remember!?!?! While eating I read over the menu....pricing was up from what we remembered. Food was fresh and served happily. Dining area could have used some cleaning up. Still lots of carryout!
We love this place. It is usually packed at lunch time and dinner time. Andrews Air Base is nearby and a lot of soldiers and workers eat here. The line may be long but it move fairly quickly. We were here at an off hour (3:30pm) on a Sunday and only 3 tables were occupied and no one in line. We had the Carnitas bowl with everything. It was so much that we shared it. Very good. Too bad they don't serve beer which would be great! A local gem!

I first saw this new restaurant passing by on Hwy 301 in Waldorf. When I read a first review with pictures on Yelp, I knew I would have to try it in my ongoing effort to find worthy Mexican food in Charles County. While my meal today was OK, it probably does not warrant a return visit. My wife daughter and I tries tacos (beef and tongue), menudo, rice and beans. 3 condiments are on the table, a hot red salsa, a mild green salsa, and pickled sliced onion and jalapeños. The menudo comes with chopped onion and cilantro. The menu so was under spiced to our tastes, so I added a lot of red salsa. The meat was clearly long simmered until gelatinous, as expected. The small bowl is plenty large. Only corn tortillas are used for tacos, no flour tacos. The only filling in the tacos are the seasoned meat. These are NOT Chipotle tacos. The tacos are served with a char-grilled green onion and slices of lime, radish and cucumber. The rice and beans were serviceable. While these tacos and this menudo would have seemed like manna from heaven 50 years ago at the end of a long night in a Tex/Mex Border town, today it is seriously lacking. Maybe age has made me more selective.

Which may be a good or bad thing depending on your perspective, however, I find that it diminishes the experience when the can't put the lid on your burrito bowl or require two tortilla s to wrap your burrito. The heavy handed approach can't be good for bottom line either. Nonetheless, you may want value for your meal dollar and you can certainly make 3 meals from one burrito at this location.

We have wondered about this place for years but did not try it because it is in one our ubiquitous strip malls and didn't look like anything special. We have been wanting some good Mexican for months since our previous favorite place went of business. Wow, we were very pleasantly surprised! The service and fast and excellent and the food was way better than we expected. I have to come back for those awesome, warm, crispy chips and that "just right" salsa. The chicken fajitas were perfect, sizzling and voluminous!! The margaritas were fine once they had chilled sufficiently-The mix might not have been chilled beforehand and the drinks didn't give us a buzz BUT they were fine. Overall, our expectations were exceeded and the price was VERY reasonable!.

We visiting Chevys for the first time this fourth of July. It was a Wednesday, so there was a margarita happy hour special, which was AMAZING!! $4 Bucks for seriously tasty flavored margaritas. We enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa, as well as the appetizer sampler. The service was good, and the atmosphere was clean and friendly. We would DEFINITELY go back to sample some more Tex-Mex & Margaritas!!
