We both enjoyed our meals in pleasant surroundings on a wet Sunday evening in April. Although the restaurant was very busy, the service was excellent. My pasta meal and my wife's veal meal were well executed Italian meals a large proportions and there was a well priced and thought out wine list.In our mind this restaurant is now on our list and a competitor with our 'other' favourite Italian restaurant.

We went here for the first time for our wedding anniversary last November, were so impressed by the food that we were quite excited about going back. Again, delicious food but spoiled for us by two things. The first the venue could do something about. We felt the tapas courses came out too close together, so we seemed to be rushing and couldn't really savor the quality of excellent courses. We had our meal over with in less than 40 minutes- no time to linger and enjoy the food or the really good sangria. The second thing, which really spoiled our meal, was the two women sitting 2 tables away from us, talking and laughing incessantly , at the tops of their voices, showing no awareness or concern for people sitting around them. We could hear every word, and they were so loud we could barely speak to each other without raising our voices. We eat out regularly and have never encountered this in other restaurants we frequent. It was rude and annoying. Don't know what the venue could do, but both things make us unwilling to go back to what is a very good restaurant.

Coal River & Co is a relaxed dining experience & we aim to ensures you enjoy a memorable food experience every time with our fresh made pastas and daily specials
What great Italian food. Simple but perfectly cooked. This restaurant is just a small hole in a wall, but produces food to die for. The wine list is limited but adequate. Tables are packed in but that adds to the Italian atmosphere. A great find!

Bocados Newcastle is a find for lovers of Spanish and South American cuisine. Its Spanish inspired menu is highlighted by Spanish produce, beer, wine and, of course .. sangria! You`ll be in Barcelona for the night. You are welcome to enjoy tapas or Bocado
Travelled from Central Coast to this Spanish restaurant and was not disappointed. We shared a few dishes. Garlic prawns were great, as was the Paella. Will definitely return. Good wine list. Staff were great. Good location.
