Maidstone is a large, historically important town in Kent, England, of which it is the county town. The River Medway runs through the centre of the town, linking it with Rochester and the Thames Estuary. Historically, the river carried much of the town's trade as the centre of the agricultural county of Kent, known as the Garden of England. There is evidence of settlement in the area dating back before the Stone Age. The town, part of the borough of Maidstone, had a population of 107,627 people in 2011. There has been a shift in the town's economy since the Second World War away from heavy industry towards light industry and services.

The Yeoman is a newly refubished but traditional community pub, set in the heart of Bearsted with an extensive menu offering a wide variety of traditional Mediterranean food. With a beer garden out the front and to the rear, guestâs can enjoy al fresco di
Literally popped in with my wife for a quick bite to eat and was greeted by a really friendly waitress who joked with us and made us feel at ease. We ordered the stuffed chicken and lofted dish, food came out quite quickly with no long wait and it was absolutely amazing! If youâre in the area then pop in and enjoy :)

Embankments restaurant is the only permanently moored floating restaurant in the whole of Kent and is unique in design to the whole of the south-east of England. We are situated on the River Medway behind Maidstone's Archbishops palace. This unique restau
We have always enjoyed good food at Embankments, so were looking forward to the new tapas style restaurant. Whilst the food we had was very good, it wasn't what I would call Tapas - the portions were of a good size and were big enough to he a main course. I had flattened rump steak on a tomato and pepper salsa and it was both tasty and healthy. My partner had a delicious crab mayo and we both enjoyed wime. Whilst the food was good, being tapas style, it was served on cardboard plates with plastic knives and forks and you have to order at the bar and pay up front. We did enjoy and will return, but I wouldn't describe the food as tapas and think proper plates and metal knives and forks would be better.

It's the second time I've visited this restaurant and it didn't disappoint. We were given a very pleasant table and the staff were friendly and efficient. I am vegetarian and my friend is vegan so we aren't the easiest of customers to please! However, my food, a vegetable shish, was absolutely delicious. Will definitely return and am happy to recommend to all of my friends.

This restaurant is located in the stunning historic Corpus Christi hall.We keep coming back to this restaurant as we love the relaxed friendly service and it almost feels like we have been transported back to Spain. Unusually on this visit there was 1 member of staff who looked as though she really did not want to be there and barely raised a smile all evening. We chose Calamari and prawns in garlic for starters which came with complimentary bread and Aioli. All of the dishes were excellent and in particular the Calamari which was cooked to perfection with a super light almost Tempura style batter. This was followed by oxtail stew and a Spanish burger both of which tasted very nice but the presentation was a little disappointing as was the House red wine. To finish we had the cheese board which was excellent and came accompanied with a very tasty quince jelly and was followed by a portion of Churros and chocolate! We had a lovely evening and will return but will probably stick to the Tapas options and possibly the Paella that we have yet to try.

We visited for the first time, after finding the restaurant, walking around Maidstone previously. A really nice restaurant, with a good selection of starters, and mains. We decided on rice balls, and mussels for starters.Husband had the salmon, and i had the lamb shank for our main courses. There is a lovely wine list as well.Service was good and friendly. Would have loved to have stopped for pudding, liqueor coffee and a grappa for the other half, but it got too busy.
