Mediterranean inspired restaurant, specialising in souvla which is a Greek / Cypriot way of cooking meat and chicken over hot coals on rotating skewers. An experience not too be missed.
We were here as a family, eating meat and a salad. The Italian Salad with mozzarella, we are talking about grated , cheap cheese! No mozzarella pieces/slices as it should be, was really an disappointment. The meat(beef) very tasteful, and delicious. The pork to fatty, The vegetables with the mains just nothing special. We waited for almost 40 minutes and were NOT offered any bread or something in between which is rather normal for a Greek restaurant. The waitress was very nervous and never brought the second round of drinks we ordered. As the restaurant opened only recently they might pick up on the service, which was friendly, but not well organized. To many people running around and far to long waiting. We will give it a second chance in a few month. As there is another very good Creek Restaurant in Hout Bay, the new owners must put in some work.....

Funny enough, we did not interface with the smoking' problem because all the smokers being seated outside, separated from us with the huge thick transparent curtain. The restaurant'Ss still very creative with their menu, their pizza never disappointing us.The staff 's impeccable, thoughtful and careful about the foods which help giving you idea to order. WE KEEP COMING BACK HERE!!! They keep rocking on their pizzas.

Spiro's in Hout Bay is the ideal restaurant if you're looking for traditional, authentic Greek food made with love and care. There are al fresco dining areas on the patio in front of the restaurant and in the paved, enclosed courtyard with bar.
Authentic Greek and Levantine cuisine prepared with love by the owner and his awesome kitchen staff, the front of house staff are equally as great, friendly and attentive. They are currently in the middle of renovating and doing an overall brand makeover which promises to feature a new and undoubtedly delectable array of Greek-inspired street food. I cannot wait to see the finished product.

We stopped here just for a coffee and ended up ordering an omelette, carrot cake and some wine. Nude little spot. Nice covered stoep. My omelette and my hubbies carrot cake were both great. Good selection of wines by the glass. Attentive service. Good prices. It's nothing unusual, but the basics are done very well! A pleasant surprise and we'd go back for another meal.

This cosy, unpretentious coastal spot will leave you smiling, your taste buds singing and your soul rejuvenated. A classic menu put together by someone who clearly has a passion for wholesome and flavorful Italian cuisine. Tuck yourself and your significant other inside for a lightly romantic evening or hang out on the deck with friends and family while sipping away on some delicious wine as the sun sets over the bay. No matter what, the awesome staff will make you feel special and the food will have you wanting to come back for more.

Voted BEST PIZZA IN AFRICA by 50TopPizza. Open every day of the week for lunch & dinner. We make amazing pizza plus daily specials, using only the best, mainly locally sourced ingredients, and the owners are always present to ensure quality & consistency.
The pizza was good. I like a thin base. But is it better or the best in Cape Town? I doubt it. They benefitted from good publicity and I imagine many of the five star reviews are influenced by that. If you go, enjoy the pizza but keep off the starters or what they call Italian tapas because they are very unItalian and are characterised by heavy coverings of melted tasteless cheese. I notice the owner specialises in aggressive emotional responses to any review he doesn't like. That is not a good look so let me me remind him that pride comes before the fall and he should just accept good faith reviews whether they are good, bad or just average.Hi Yendy, thanks for your review. We have actually been voted Best Pizzeria in Africa, but i guess it is question of personal preference.I just want to clarify that out of 20 spuntini starters, only 3 are 'covered with melted cheese':- the melanzane parmigiana, - the Bomba: (morsel of artisan chorizo, soft focaccia, roasted garlic & mozzarella)- the Furia: oven baked caciocavallo cheese with oregano. A cheese lover's dreamin all of them we use proper artisan cheeses made by Puglia cheese in Cape TownWe have been operating since 2009 and have been appreciated long before this award was bestowed upon us.
