We visited eastern France during the June 2019 European heatwave (high temperature today was 103 F). Miserable! We wanted to find a place near the cathedral for lunch, but all the places that our maps recommended were either expensive, fussy places or places without air conditioning. We were about to throw in the towel and get a salad at a non-air-conditioned pizzeria, THEN we saw Au Coeur du Liban down a quiet side street. What an oasis! The food was excellent, the ambiance and service were outstanding.

On the recommendation of TripAdvisor we stopped to have dinner in your real Italian Restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious and portions are plenty, just what you would want. Service was super generous and friendly. Next time I am in Metz, will definitely be coming back because this Restaurant is not to be Missed!

This restaurant is located in a sort of industrial erea, not easy to find but make the effort because it is worth it. Genuine Marrocan food of excellent quality.

No 1 restaurant in Metz? Really!? It just shows how, even in France, TA reviewers can get it badly wrong.I should have known, of course, that a pizza called Andre, aaah! was not going to be authentically Italian, but I was not quite prepared for the way in which the odd mix of toppings (including three very small mussels in their shells) coalesced into an off-putting sludge when it hit the hot dough. I could not bring myself to finish it - even though I am a World War II baby trained to eat whatever is on my plate. The place itself lacked anything resembling comfort or charm; and the only redeeming feature was the cheap but good carafe of wine.
