San Ysidro (Spanish pronunciation: [san iˈsiðɾo]) is a district of the City of San Diego, immediately north of the U.S.-Mexico border. It neighbors Otay Mesa West to the north, Otay Mesa to the east, and Nestor and the Tijuana River Valley to the west; together these communities form South San Diego, a pene-exclave of the City of San Diego, thus making it possible to travel (by water) between central San Diego and South San Diego without ever leaving the city limits. While being tourist, stopped in for a beverage and snack. The table next to us ordered burritos, omg! they are huge. The nachos were a good size also. Service was good, however, is provided at a dining pace. For us this was not an issue, we were looking to chill outside with a beverage and enjoy the sun, but if you are looking for a quick in and out, you might want to tell them when you arrive. Our food was all yummy and it sounds like the surrounding tables all enjoyed their food too. Great place to come and chillax.

On the recommendation of a local Border Patrol agent, my colleagues and I headed to El Cilantro for dinner. The generous portions mentioned by other reviewers did not disappoint. The man in our group with the big appetite had his fill with a single burrito and the horchata was tall and delicious. The ceviche was quite tasty and would have been sufficient for my petite appetite without the fish taco, which was a little disappointing. Not much fish and a ton of slaw. Will have to go back to try the Mexican cocktail (shrimp in a savory tomato sauce).

Totally gross. I had a chili relleno burrito and my husband had a carne asada burrito. Disgusting. They only have sodas in the can and they were both warm. With all the Mexican restaurants around, dont bother with this one.

We were staying at the hotel across the street and decided to check it out. If youâve never been there, itâs slightly confusing. Basically get in one of four lines depending on the type of meat you want. Your food is made right in front of you and very fresh. The meat is cooked over charcoal and is very flavorful. We ordered a variety of four different tacos, then went back for a half order of Carne Asada fries. Everything was tasty and made quickly. Iâm sure weâll walk across the street to eat here again before we head home!

Found this restaurant through Yelp and its a good cheap Mexican food place. If you're heading to Las Americas Outlet, its on the other side of the I5 and definitely worth the stop. The cashier picked out 6 items for us to try and it was amazing. She even gave us some soup and tea and a rice drink to sample.

Located a hard turn away from the border, plenty of parking, and of course a bi-lingual staff you can't go wrong eating here. You will leave here full, satisfied, and wanting to return. Serving traditional Mexican fares of tacos, burritos, sopas, sopes, menudo, enchiladas, tortas, ...... and a few American dishes. The combination of spices, slow cooked, and presentation are on point! Service is adequate, but can be true to Mexican lifestyle of relaxed (slow). Prices are not high. A full complement of beverages (sodas, beers, tea, frescas, liquidos) to make your meal complete. Looking forward to visiting again, and oh yeah, to shop in the outlet mall sharing the same parking lot. :-)
