A truly year-round destination, the city offers activities for every season. In winter, one can explore the downtown area through more than seven miles of glass-enclosed skyways. Iâve never eaten at a restaurant with such an interesting mix of cuisines. The Senegalese Peanut Curry was excellent, as were the Phuket Noodles, the Chicken Tinga Tacos, the Cuban Pork, and even the Nachos. While many restaurants will offer a mix of cuisines, usually they donât prepare any one very well, but that was not the case here. I would definitely return.

You'll want to make a reservation. Appetizer Guac was great. Tequila flight is cool. Helps to compare when you don't really know the difference between types of tequila that well. Tacos were okay. I don't particularly care for corn tortillas, but I understand that's more authentic. Service was great.

Mine: soft poached eggs (though I only can ever eat one, even here) over/with black beans and white rice, plantains (maduros) Cuban toast. And that tamarind hot sauce. Sigh. Heavenly. And perfect café con leche. Hers: two pancakes, one mango the other corn. Real bacon. Iced cold brew. Ours: a shaded table outside, after a short wait, even on a late Thursday morning.

Several friends have encouraged me to try this place so my foodie son who came to visit and wanted to try some place that we had not been before. Thankfully we came early--a little before 5 PM. By 5:30 the place was full. (A reservation is probably a good idea at a usually busy time.)This place specialises in food from Northern South America, chiefly Colombia and Venezuela. The preparation was tops across the board. There are also a lot of vegetarian and vegan choices--not always easy to find in Latin American restaurants. The centre pieces are arepas, masa harina pancakes thicker than tortillas that are arranged in excellent sandwiches that are sort of a cross between a sandwich and a taco. They are served with yucca fries which have all the satisfying crunch of good french fries but have a lot more heft. They come with either aioli or chimichurri. (Or order two and get one of each!)The small plate starters were excellent across the board. One was based on brussels sprouts with mole and other tastes, another with roasted cauliflower. There were lots of other things we wanted to try.The dessert menu was well thought through. What can one do originally with a flourless chocolate cake?--You can cover it with marshmallow (Italian meringue) caramelized with a blowtorch and studded with broken chunks of caramel. There was a passionfruit flan, and I can't recall the rest of the excellent choices. There are lots of cocktails, a number of mocktails (most of them sweet--try adding some bitter ones) and delicious passionfruit lemonade, which was my choice. Service was prompt and friendly. It is clear that these folks love cooking and you can feel it in the food. You will leave with an inner smile from that joy and that will bring you back, as it will me.

Friendly, outgoing staff make everyone feel welcome to dine inside or on the patio. Colorful wall hangings support the Ecuadorian heritage driving the flavors that grace each dish of food.My companion chose the ENCOCADO ($14.00) with Mahi-mahi (shrimp is another option) stewed in a flavorful coconut sauce. It was served with rice and sweet plaintain. Rapturous about the sauce, he wiped up every bit with rice. I went for the SANDUCHE DE PERNIL ($9.00) A bollio roll well-stuffed with roasted pork made juicy by being topped with sweet plantain and aji criollo. Flavorful if a bit dry. This place is often packed with those waiting for a table, but waits pass quickly by and the reward for waiting is gratifying.
