If youâre familiar with Peruvian food as well as Japanese food perhaps you also heard the term Nikkei Cuisine. The family who owns this restaurant has a long history in the Nikkei community in Lima, Peru and are known for their Peruvian and Nikkei recipes. They also have their first Kotosh location in the city of Lomita. That location is very crowded so they decided to cater Manhattan Beach area as theyâre known by some of the celebrities living in that area.I hate to say this but their Lomo Saltado here is even better than the original location in Lomita and while I enjoy both, the flames here are definitely stronger here hence the exquisite aroma and flavor of the âcandelaâ (fire in Spanish). My recommendations when dining here:Start off with a âTiraditoâ and/or Cebiche Mixto and a specialty roll like the âAcebichadoâ.Followed by a Lomo Saltado or Tacu Tacu with Lomo Saltado.Enjoy a cold Draft Beer then a small bottle of Sake while enjoying your meal.Bring your friends if you like to share and try more variety of dishes at once.Parking available across street (credit card ok), sometimes the city has free parking during winter time at night. But if you drink please call an uber so you can truly enjoy your day!

Osho, under new ownership in the last year, is still a great place for sushi and other Japanese food. The staff is friendly, helpful and courteous and the food is excellent, Their "lunch special" can't be beat ($8.50 for miso soup, salad, tempura and chicken). I've been going here for years and have never had a bad meal.

Modern Tokyo Sushi Bar with a large premium Sake List specializing in Omakase (Chef's Menu).
We lunched here on a weekday. They advertised Happy Hour prices btw. 11-2 and they were reasonable!! Some of us had the bento box lunch which was very reasonable at $8, including shrimp tempura, another entree of your choice (I had chicken teriyaki), rice, salad, miso soup. Others in my party had nigiri sushi and some sushi specials, like sushi foie gras (very unique!!). It was very busy at lunch and only one main waitress so the service was a little slow. But they were very gracious and the food got served eventually and was very good.

Fusion Sushi, established in 2002, resides near a fairly populated residential area. It has been known as the tourists' site in the city of Manhattan Beach. In addition to the reputation for its beautiful oceanic view and a variety of special menu items,
I've lived in Manahattan Beach for 18 years and never went to Fusoin Sushi for one reason or another. However, over the last six or so months I have become a regular. The fish is very good, the service is ok and the price is reasonable.

Our first visit and we were not disappointed. They pride themselves on healthy, gluten free, organic dining as well as vegan friendly. A small hole- in- the wall location but quite cozy just off the Strand. A specialty of the restaurant is a selection of Crispy Rice topped with various seafood and vegan items. Nightly specials are available. I would recommend the Shemeji Mushroom Salad as a starter, delicious.A fine selection of Sake and beers are also available. Service is impeccable.

After eating at this restaurant more than four times now, we continue to be amazed at the high delicious quality of the food and service. Despite its difficult name, it wins hands down for wonderful food and service. Reservations are a must and you should call days in advance, but the planning is worth it. There is a broad selection of draft beers from Japan. Their special sushi rolls rock. Try the asparagus dish which is perfectly cooked every time. The tempura is light and tasty. If you enjoy salmon sushi, try it. Avoid the squash dish however. Bring kids as they have some nice dishes for them - ask the waiter. This is the place to go in town.
