Years ago I bought some takeaway sushi from this restaurant in Prado area, Marseille. The slogan was then '' our sushi was made by Japanese chef.'' Now I stumbled upon this restaurant ( probably their branch) again in Cabries. The slogan is still the same. This location is quite convenient as they have their own parking space reserved for the sole use of their customers. We park the car in the back and go through a side corridor into the restaurant. At first it looks a bit heaving in the foyer due to its design. You face a long bar counter with sushi display and a cashier. Then a menu is proffered to us. We must place our order and pay it at once. Then we get further into the main part of the restaurant with a wider hall and even outdoor garden area. We finally settle in the outdoor area with a beamed ceiling. Our order arrived soon. They are bento box, misho soup and seaweed salad for me, gyoza and takoyaki( dumpling and fried potato meat ball) for my husband. I am not sure if the chef is really Japanese since we have a glimpse into the kitchen and find no one there. The staffs are all nations including French, Malaysian, Vietnamese etc. Overall, there is not much difference in taste between the food here and in Japan. Certainly not the Takoyaki, which is exactly the same as we had in Asakusa, Tokyo. The gyoza is good too with substantial prawn fillings. The only subtle nuances being the bento. There are too much meat, chicken balls, chicken on skewer, fried prawn tempura, deep fried chicken bites. Traditional Japanese meal emphasizes on the balance of meat and vegetable. In this bento box, the only vegetable is some cold and sour cucumber and tomato salad which is far from adequate. Overall, the meal is flawless and the amount on the bill is quite reasonable.Dear Customer,The entire team joins me in thanking you for taking the time to share your comments. In your comment you made allusions to our Marseille Prado restaurant. As you may have noticed the Plan de Campagneâs KYO (even if it provides similar dishes) is an "Express" restaurant, its organization is designed to adapt to the varied needs of this areaâs customers (in a hurry for some or most relaxed for others).Regarding the composition of Bento, I assure you that your comments have been studied and are the subject of our attention.See you soon at KYO

We were growing tired of the overpriced pretentious restaurants when visiting Marseille. We found this place through Trip Advisor and are so glad we paid a visit. The majority of their sushi is made from fresh, locally sourced organic produce and tasted amazing, and Julien gave us exceptional customer service. We felt welcomed and relaxed and it made a refreshing change from the other restaurants we'd visited in the area. Ideal for a more affordable lunch or relaxed evening meal. Highly recommended.
