Reviews on Japanese food in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, United States. Elk Grove Village is a village located in northeastern Illinois adjacent to O'Hare International Airport and is a near northwest suburb, touching the city of Chicago. It is one of the Chicago metropolitan area's principal villages due to its large industrial park, located on the eastern border of the village. The village is located primarily in Cook County with a small portion in DuPage County. The population was 33,127 at the 2010 census. As the name suggests, Elk Grove Village is home to a small herd of elk kept in a grove at the eastern edge of the Busse Woods forest preserve for which the grove is named. Elk are not native to the area but were brought by train from Montana by an early resident, William Busse, in the 1920s. The elk are currently maintained by the Chicago Zoological Society veterinary staff and the Busse Woods Forest Preserve wildlife biologists.

We ate at Tokio Pub this past Sat. night. We had reservations at 7:45. We were seated about 7:55. Not too bad......the young lady who greeted us when we arrived was not overly friendly. We were seated and waited about 10 minutes before a server in training came over and said she could not take our order but told us about some appetizers she would recommend. I believe her name was Justine and she was quite nice. She took our drink orders however. 10 minutes later our server came with our drinks. At that point we ordered a hot rock app and edamame potstickers.....both were very good. I ordered the pork belly boa and enjoyed, all four of us enjoyed our entrees. We ordered asparagus tempura for the table and was very good. The Fries w/ a Asiam mayo were not good. The fries had astale cardboard texture and mayo based sauce was warm and runny. Big fail on the fries. Everything else was good. I would not so the service was great but it was good enough. I would not hesitate to go here again.

As soon as you enter this restaurant you know you made the right choice as the patrons are primarily Japanese: nice atmosphere, friendly service and very good food, all for a reasonable price, and despite the location in a strip mall.

Ramen Misoya: A small Japanese kitchen in a dilapidated shopping center in the greater Chicagoland area. Good thing I don't judge a restaurant by its neighborhood! I first discovered this place via a coworker (and best friend) who came out here for training. He mentioned that Ramen Misoya was the best ramen he'd had in the States. Eager to verify his claims, I gave it a try.EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS!Takoyaki is on point. The "Ise Miso Ramen" was my favorite of the menu ramen, and they have a curry fried chicken ramen that is to die for, but it's not always available. My wife and I life in Maryland; after she heard how much I was talking about this place, she flew out to Chicago to try it (Seriously.). She loved it.Long story short: They have a location in Downtown Chicago as well as Mount Prospect. Either way, you've gotta give it a try!

200 feet down a long hall from the main Westin atrium. The food was very good as was service. I had teriyaki chicken. It seems a bit "tacky" from the physical environment but don't be put off.

This place is amazing. The food is outstanding. Absolutely love the Mermaid and Volcano rolls. The crispy honey flanked steak is super tasty. And one of my benchmark orders to compare to others is crab Rangoon. It is incredible. I'm surprised more people don't know about this place. With a plethora of food in the area and Schaumburg too, I could eat here everyday and skip everything else.

Quick service Japanese restaurant and sushi cafe.
Tensuke has expanded their Daiso department AND lowered the prices.Everything is now $2 and there's a much larger selection.Daiso is an international chain of 100-yen stores, specializing in housewares, fashion accessories and stationery items. In Israel they are 10-shekel stores; in Canada they are CAD $2 stores; in Cambodia they are 7600-riel stores (about $1.90 in US dollars); etc.I am very excited to share the news of Tensuke's expanded Daiso inventory and lower prices.
