It is one of the largest towns in southern province. It is located 195 km (121 mi) south of Colombo and 35 km (22 mi) east of Matara. It has a mild climate, in comparison to the rest of the district, and sandy beaches.

Me and a friend were here for dinner and the food was nice. But when myfriend's meal was almost empty, she noticed a deep-fried, large ant in her food. She went to the kitchen and showed the cook, who reacted quite aggressively. We only pointed them out in a normal tone. The cook claimed that the ant was put into our food. When we were back at the table, the manager of the restaurant came with the plate and pointed to the ant and said that every day so bad people come, claiming animals in their food and that we have to pay. We were never concerned about not paying,it was just a hint. Then he brought us the bill and wanted us to go. He stayed at the table until we finally paid. Finally, he wished us a nice evening and pointed out that we are rich tourists and that he is poor. Just very rude and scary for two girls traveling alone. We did not even dare to say anything, because he has built up very threatening in front of us.Thank you so much for your review. You two girls was not the only customers in our restaurant that time there was 03 couples also sitting their and they was a victim of what you both was trying to do..I donât have to give any explanations about the incident and your friend walking to kitchen with empty plate and show me a dead ant and she said she donât want to pay the bill .its really shame of you both what was you trying to do and creating all this stori after all. If you request from us we will give you free food . You donât have to come so far like this .thanks to your nice story once again mam and tangalle is very safe for any age tourist and so friendly people all around here.. but donât try to do like this in any other restaurant..

Donât be put off by the lack of reviews for this newly opened restaurant. We have eaten at the top 5 rated restaurants in Tangalle and Aloe Farms was just as yummy! My Kottu Roti was delicious and my husbands curries were generous portions with lots of flavour. Also this is not a $$-$$$ restaurant, the bill was the same as others in the area if not cheaper, and we advised them to contact TA to change this.

We had walked along the lovely beach and stopped for lunch. Decided to order some 'western food' but when we noticed our neigbours food we changed our minds- and had delicious prawn & vegetable curries! Great location just by the sea by the way. Will be back for lunch some of the coming days!

Came here for lunch but most of the items on menu are not available except pizzas! They were good but would have been nice to get some choices as it was our first lunch in Sri Lanka and we're excited to try out some local fare.

Set on the best part of the beach of Tangalle, the bar provides comfortable sunbeds (for free!!) and serves great food and drinks all day :) I can highly recommend the fresh fruit juices-made with love. The staff is super friendly, relaxed and helpful! They made our stay unforgetable (bonfire party's included) ;)Thank you guys-I will never forget youâ¥ï¸

Reasonably priced restaurant with amazing views and very attentive staff. The restaurant is at a raised height with ocean views. The food was very tasty and so well presented. The only minus was the ridiculous price of the wine menu, with very ordinary wines starting from £40 per bottle!
