Today it is one of the major seaside resorts in the country, known for the Apollonia art and film festival (which takes place in early September) that is named after one of the town's ancient names.

If you are looking for Casanova's restaurant,then you'll never find it.It changed its name two years ago to Big Mama Fani,their original hotel/restaurant being on Via Pontika,but has now closed down.The manager remains the same,and the food stays as good,with a few additions to the menu.My favourite from which I seldom stray,is the speciality Frutti de Mare....fantastic if you love sea food as I do.It is served in a clear Pyrex oval dish,on a crepe,and contains various sea food in a creamy sauce.The lid of the dish is sealed with a thick ribbon of dough around the join...really unusual,and when taken off when cooked,can then be used as crispy bread to enjoy the odd secret dunk...just great,and always a winner with me.My friend on the last occasion had the pork,chicken and walnut in a sauce,similarly served in the clear glass dish,and another speciality of the house.It was pronounced a success.I am sure that the portion sizes of these two dishes are meant for a couple,to be enjoyed along with vegetables.However,we never get to the vegetable stage,and chose to enjoy quite selfishly the whole contents to ourselves.This restaurant is not cheap by comparison to others,both dishes coming it at around the 30 lev mark.That said,I have always found it worth it.Overall,a very good restaurant,overlooking the sea,with pleasant staff,and a 'must try' in my opinion.

We went there last night.The place was opened last month and they seemed slightly understaffed. That said, atmosphere was great, menu has a good variety of fish dishes, pizza, cold platters, salads. We had mussels in wine, fried calamari, laurel and a beef burger. The outstanding dish were the calamari - fresh and prepared in house, as opposed to the frozen stuff from a bag that a big portion of the restaurants get. Burger was a medium cooked beef patty - would suggest they serve with home made fries rather than the ones from a bag. Overall - great impression, hope it keeps up!

Since it is one of the 2 or 3 decent places around Sozopol, it was crodwed as hell - all booked in advance. I tried to buy a snack, since we were at the adjacent beach bar that was horrible - the waitress told me that I have to wait "at least" 30minutes for a pizza, and they are cooked one by one, and a guy before me ordered 4..so I got up and left..the bar is pretty nice though, everybody seems to like it a lot. Free umbrellas and bean bag chairs probably attract the crowd.

Very rarely you can sit and have a meal with the sea a few steps away. The service is really good here and the food is above average. I would recommend their duck with orange ( with beetroot sauce ) really delicious. Best thing about the place is the view over the Black Sea . Very relaxed vibe . Thorougly enjoyed relaxing there with a few very inexpensive beers and good food.

I just came to write this review,and noticed that the last one posted was actually by me almost a year ago.This place certainly deserves your comments,for the few minutes it would take,and would be much appreciated I am sure by the management,and would ultimately keep Pizza Milano at the top of the leader board in review terms where it quite rightly is presently.Just great as always...unquestionably the ONLY place to enjoy a 'proper' Italian pizza in Sozopol.Now apparently made with the best flour that Italy can offer,the pizza is lighter,and even more enjoyable than the previous years...they were brilliant then!Super-friendly staff....the owner Nikolay and son Georgi always on hand to ensure you the best experience...amazing pizzas and an all-round good place to meet for a coffee,being at the start of the Old Town.They do offer take-away,and also a delivery service to your apartment.TRY IT!I am confident that you would go back again....and again.

This restaurant was recommended by a local as the best in town . We had lovely dinner , a most extensive menu , excellent waiter , lovely view of sea ! Medium prices you pay for the view like any place by the sea ! Thank you for the review! You pay for the quality of the food as well. Is there something which we can improve?
