Located at the Hotel Universel Riviere-du-Loup, this Italian restaurant will make you travel from Riviere-du-Loup to Italy through its antipasti, pastas, pizzas and its well-known seafood. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly service make Le Rialto a gre
After a brief wait in the bar, we were seated in the dining room. Our party of four was looking forward to Italian and really hungry. We ordered the escargot and beverages and both arrived quickly. The escargot were placed in a rugged pastry shell with a strange sauce pooled around it. While it looked intriguing, the brandy sauce was relatively flavorless and the pastry overpowered the escargot. The four of us agreed that the dish was a disappointment. Our entrees followed, chicken scallopini, the risotto, veal parm and the Gamberetti done with chicken instead of veal. The risotto itself was very salty. The accompanying shrimp, by contrast, was not seasoned. The veal parm, Gamberetti, and scallopini were all overcooked, possibly forgotten under a heat lamp? The pasta that accompanied was crunchy and fused to the plate. The shrimp that accompanied the Gamberetti were so small there were almost discernable, salad shrimp? On the bright side, our server was very nice and attentive. We all agreed that we would not be dining here again. It's a shame because the atmosphere is nice, the staff is friendly and there is potential for this restaurant.

We came for the buffet (based on reviews here), and left disappointed. The one positive was the service - the waitress was super-nice. However, the buffet was atrocious. Fried foods galore including pizza, chicken fingers, chicken wings (of poor quality), onion rings, etc. There was some bland pasta with tomato sauce and similarly mediocre lasagna. The salad bar was also poor - no real unique tastes, and the dressings were all Kraft from bottles. Even the 'homemade fudge' was sugary and cheap. The price was also a bit outrageous. They counted children over 10 years old as adults, so for two families of 10, it cost $160 (including one class of cheap red wine, and three of the worst Caesar's in Canada). Avoid this place!

Quaint pizza place on LaFontaine, the main street for non-chain restaurants in Riviere-du-loup. The lady who took our take-out order was very nice and spoke English very well. We tried the BBQ chicken pizza and another kind that included Montreal smoked meat. Neither was the best I've ever had in Quebec (and I love Quebec-made pizza) but still delicious and worth trying if in the area.

The Day's Inn gave us this restaurant's name to eat good food - and we did! The pasta dishes were very tasty and certainly enough quantity also.We didn't have any problem with the language, our wait staff was bi-lingual, although I was trying to speak "en francais un peu!"Definitely a strong recommendation from us!

After a long day on the road we decided pizza in the hotel was our meal of choice. Thanks to Trip Advisor reviews we chose Bon Voyage. The pizza was delicious, crisp crust, fresh ingredients and good service. Unfortunately they did not have salads available. One tip if you are doing take out, ask them to cut the pizza.

For over 30 years the Restaurant Le Saint-Patrice offers a fine Italian and local cuisine to customers from all around the world. The ambiance is trendy and the service is friendly and always professional. It is a great stop when you come in Riviere-du-Lo
You might be confused with our 4-Star rating and the title. We visited for dinner on the recommendation of a friend. The food was excellent, the service . . . not so much.We were seated promptly indoors and our drink (bottle of wine) and food order were taken by our initial server. Our wine arrived but there was a noticeable delay in receiving our appetizers. We then noticed our initial server was serving the patio and didn't see our new server for some time. She seemed to be the only server in our part of the restaurant. Our main courses arrived and were delicious however no one checked in to see if we required anything further. After waiting a considerable time for our bill we finally caught the attention of the greeter who had our server bring us the bill.I'm assuming there was a staffing shortage as the couple next to us who arrived after we did, canceled their entree orders after the husband ate his appetizer. Their entrees simply did not arrive in a timely fashion.Very unfortunate the service was not up to par as the food was excellent!Thank you for your comment. Some days, we are effectively understaffed. And we are doing everything possible to satisfy our clientele. All regions of Quebec have the same problem. We are delighted that you enjoyed your meal. Cordially.
