Run by a franco-lao couple, it is a welcoming and warm restaurant, where home-made cuisine is served. there is a good price / quality ratio.

We must have eaten at hundreds of backpacker places over the years and this place definitely rates very poorly compared to the vast majority. Both of us found our meals extremely bland and unappetizing. I know that backpacker restaurant owners are in a bind. If they add spice, some people will send it back. However, they usually find a happy medium. With no spices or sauce to enliven these dishes, they struck us as very boring. The stir fried veg tasted like boiled frozen veg with no sauce. The fried rice was utterly tasteless. Hopefully, they will learn that many Westerners like spice these days and liven it up a bit.

went there for lunch, ordered pasta and chilli beef with cheese on top. Pasta was so over cooked it had to be eaten with a spoon lest it fell apart, chilli beef was some sort of styr fried tough strips of something, buffalo probably. No cheese on top. We did get some extra cheese for the top when we asked.I think these guys just don't know how the food should taste when done properly. The place was clean and the fruit shakes nice. The staff, with the exception of the manager/owner where lackluster.

My boyfriend and I ate here after learning they make pizza and pasta. The staff was immediately rude, laughing at us and walking away when my boyfriend was talking to them in Laos. They stood close to our table and stared at us the entire time we ate, and when we attempted to talk to them (in Lao) they would roll their eyes and walk away. Finally my boyfriend said (in Lao) "You dont speak Lao? Do you speak any language?" This made them angry enough that they backed off. They were about 6 young girls, probably teenagers. The food was a welcome change from the Asian cusine. The eggplant pasta was very good. The marinara sauce was light, and the pasta fresh. The pizza was also good, but not to be compared to pizza in the US. The pepperoni was actually hard salami and the sauce had a bit of a bbq sauce taste to it. We enjoyed it, though it is different than typical western pizza. We also got a cesar salad. The vegetables were very fresh, though the croutons were simply sliced toast and the dressing is simply red vinegar. We returned the next day and ordered two pizzas to go. The staff was still rude. The cheese pizza is tasty, with basil and a sweet sauce. Again, it is different than typical western pizza, but good nonetheless. The pizzas were about $6 each, and they were medium sized. There are other restaurants nearby that serve pasta and burgers (sabidee restaurant just down the road). The owner there was very friendly and his food looked good. If you are not set on eating pizza, and prefer a friendly atmosphere, I suggest trying a different restaurant.

Staying in the hostel I ate breakfast here most mornings and supper here most evenings. The food was absolutely amazing, although on the expensive side for a hostel. The waffles for breakfast were particularly good. All the staff are really friendly and nice. Orders were always taken quickly and food arrived prepared with care, well cooked and piping hot.Free fruit juice with your breakfast and free desert after your supper. The manager really makes a fuss over you which makes you feel welcome.

We called here for dinner and loved it. From the front street it doesn't look like much, but if you choose to sit in the garden at the back you will find it transformed into a lovely dining area, where you get to watch the chefs busy in the kitchen and the pizzas being freshly prepared. The staff were friendly and attentive and really seemed to have fun working together. We were delighted to find the menu full of genuine Italian dishes, which we certainly didn't expect and have not seen anywhere else during our 8 months in Asia, so was a real treat. We both opted for pizzas and they were delicious, we also shared a salad with gorgonzola, apple and walnuts, it was amazing, I could have eaten a huge bowl of the stuff! My husband had the tiramisu for dessert and really enjoyed that too.All of this while enjoying an excellent soundtrack, again unlike any we've heard elsewhere on our travels, some great rock and roll tracks and some more eclectic tunes too.We had a wonderful evening here and would happily visit again, this time to try some of the delicious looking pasta.
