This place treated us like family! The food was amazing they offered a menu in English - it was late on a Sunday and they stayed open to cook us dinner! It was so cheap we couldn't believe the prices and sizes of dinner see my pictures... Clean and friendly - highly recommended!
The food was average... about what expect from a fast food italian place, but delivered extremely slowly and with grudging attention from the staff. While I'm used to slow service having lived overseas for several years, they put new meaning into the concept of SLOW.... Don't bring a large party here and by all means avoid multiple children. The staff are not shy about making their displeasure of loud conversation well known.

If you are looking for a good family owned Italian eatery when in town then look no further. I am always welcomed and treated special in this small resturante. The Italian dishes are excellent and they have a nice selection of German dishes also. One of my normal stops when in the area.

I ate here with friends and had a really great meal! Pasta alla Panna with spinach was delicious- no leftovers! Salads were fresh and yummy. Pizzas were made to order and crispy. Good selection of beers and wine. My favorite cappucino in town.

In this gourmet restaurant, our guests are treated with the best in a charming atmosphere. The chefs team, guided by head chef Detlef Schmidt, uses only high quality products with partners that he works with for years. Fresh, seasonal food and a large win
This restaurant is a little on the upscale side, but with friendly service and great food. This was a family friendly restaurant (we saw children on two different trips). The staff speaks English really well and this restaurant appears to get a lot of international travelers. Dear Aaron S,Thank you very much for rating our restaurant, we really appreciate the effort. It is great that you enjoyed you stay that much. As you noted we welcome many interantional travellers as well as local guests which makes us very proud. We are looking forward to your next visit and send best regards from Bad Windsheim,Kerstin Lutz & the Alte Schule team

We have been to this restaurant several times already so I was thinking about a review here. The restaurant is located close to the city center and can be reached by foot. Parking directly in front of it might be a problem, however there are some parking spots as well as in the city center.. During summertime you can sit outside and have a beer in their beer garden behind the building.Their menue is good, they have pizza, pasta, meat and fish dishes as well as starters and freshly made desserts. For a starter I can recommend their Bruschetta, as a dessert Panna Cotta. The menue is also in English for our valued American guests.Prices are "human" I should say. We (2 persons) had a starter, a sparkling wine to it, main course, drinks and Schnapps and paid 36,- EUR.Their service is oustanding, the guy who took our order could remember everything without writing it down (and we ordered everything at once from starter over the main course till our 5 drinks). They asked I they should bring the main course and the drinks. Very nice. The main room (the smaller one) is nicely decorated with old things from a brewery or a distillery. Full of brass and copper things however far away from being tacky. The other room is the bigger one however not decorated like the main room. Still nice though. They also have a bowling alley as far as I know. The only downturn we noticed during earlier visits is when it's crowded. Service is still good and they tell you that it is full and that most likely you have to wait. However the waiting time is so long then that it can not be tolerated. So my advice if you see it is very crowded: go somewhere else.Still in my opinion this is the best Italian restaurant we have in Bad Windsheim and we have plenty. The owner sometimes goes from table to table and greets known guests and ask you for our opinion about the food. Nice detail.
