The motto of KOCHWERK Lübeck restaurant is âsimply good foodâ! Enjoy regional and international cuisine highlights. The modern lifestyle ambience, in-house oil and vinegar bar and the sun terrace complete the gastronomic concept.
We had enough driving for the day, so we dined in the hotel. Great bread dip consisting of cherry-almond vinegar and olive oil. Quite good chicken Caesar salad, but the fish was drowned in butter.

The food was excellent, especially the flounder was perfectly cooked. The service was still learning a bit, as the restaurant had just opened about a month ago.The location next to old city, old harbour buildings and new marina is peaceful and with nice views. For us visiting the city by boat, the location can't be better.

In 2012, Buddenbrooks was awarded its second Michelin star; and let me make this known right from the beginning: I believe the stars to be absolutely well earned â for what a fabulous experience! With just four tables for 2 and two tables for 4, there is not room for many guests â albeit the place could easily hold more tables. For there was more than plenty space, a fact that I appreciate very much. In addition to a enjoying a more intimate dinner, this also allowed me to carry on a conversation with my girl friend without disturbing the other guests, and vice versa. Not for one minute could one be in doubt that the quality of the entire experience is paramount here.It is a 6-course menu. However, as always in such fantastic restaurants, you receive a multitude of appetizers, and â when all is said and done â you will have consumed no less than 14 courses. The upshot of this luckily meant an added bonus for me. For, even before the actual menu took its beginning, my girlfriend had already eaten her full, thus leaving all the more for me. As to taste, all courses represent a profusion of various flavours all coming together into a perfectly unique experience and, in combination with the visual impression, there only one word that denotes every facet of what we were exposed to that evening, namely âWeltklasseâ!The wine menu comprised the entire Europe â albeit focusing on wine from South Germany; and, like the food, every wine was better than the one preceding it. And, not having it in my heart to leave such excellent wine behind; I enjoyed each and every one of them to the very last drop. And, sadly, I have to admit that I got more than just a wee tipsy. After dinner, we even had the honour to shake the hand of the chef himself â the much famed German cook, Christian Scharrer, thus making a perfect ending of an amazing and absolutely unforgettable evening.I shall be more than happy to make the trip from Denmark to Germany, just to eat here once again.

Cosy Bar with more then 500 spirits. Perfect for classic and signature drinks. More then 200 Gin, 70 Whisky, 70 Rum and other delicious spirits. New Drink menu every month. No happy hour! âDrink less, but Drink the right way!â
We stumbled across this little cafe after a chilly day of sightseeing, and were not disappointed. Although the sign makes it seem as though it's a pretty ordinary little local bar, it is, in fact, a cocktail lover's dream! Enormous selection of gins, a few specialty tonics we'd never seen (we live in England, where the selection is very extensive), and an interesting and varied cocktail menu. We ended up coming back the next evening and noticed that there were several other customers there who had been there with us the night before - all of us had liked it so much, we'd come back! Both of the owners were personable and friendly, and we really enjoyed chatting with Kai, who recommended some great cocktails - including an outstanding 'Christmas cocktail' (gin based) of his own creation. Cosy, friendly atmosphere, great drinks, and nice location on the Untertrave - absolutely recommend!

Came here two days in a row because of how much I enjoyed it. Its the perfect kind of food to fuel you for a big tour around town. The food is delicious, the menu is comprehensive with lots of vegetarian options, the staff are super lovely and helpful and also its super cheap, definitely one of the best eats in town for a quick stop. Would recommend the Turkish delight or tandoori chicken, both were outstanding.

This place is very busy, so it is best to reserve a table. The fresh orange juice is sooo gooood, so get that.We also had smoothie, pancakes and bagels. all of it was very very good and highly recommendable. The service seemed a bit chaotic though, and if you are in a hurry you might want to wait until a day where you have better time.We visited on both Saturday and Sunday, and would go again if we get the change. If you are in Lübeck and in need of Breakfast you should really go here.
