Reviews on International food in Machu Picchu, Cusco Region, Peru. It's no wonder Machu Picchu is Peru's most-visited site. Dating to the mid-1400s, it's a marvel of mortar-free limestone architecture perched on a high plateau deep in the Amazonian jungle. Get there via train from Cusco or, if you're not faint-hearted, make the trip on foot via a multi-day hiking trail—you'll travel through deep Andean gullies and enjoy stunning views.

Based on one prior experience of eating pizza elsewhere on this trip to Peru, my expectations were pretty low, but my tour guide recommended this place. It might have been pricey compared to other places, I'm not sure, but the pizza here was fantastic for Peruvian standards where the crust is wafer thin. At least this pizza, with sausage, mushrooms and pineapple, or something like that, had a lot of flavor and would be considered pretty good even in the U.S.

Instalações deste restaurante bem luxuosa. Só atendimento poderia ser um pouco mais ágil, mas comida primorosa e preço justo. Banheiros impecáveis.

Manka is located in the lobby of the Casa del Sol Boutique Hotel. It is a beautiful place, but also a little rustic. We were the only guests and Erickson was the only server. As far as we could see, he was the only staff. Our travel agent had negotiated an included dinner and breakfast with our room rates. Our group of six was presented with a menu for a four course dinner. Each course offered a choice between two dishes. I started with a tartare of local trout, which was fresh and served with diced cucumber and a thin citrus sauce. I followed with a garbanzo bean puré with diced chicken, and Andean-pesto linguine. Both were delicious. For desert, I had a tartare of fresh fruit that was very refreshing and the perfect ending to a great meal. The wine list was short: two bottles, one red, one white, but both were very good. Breakfast included a beautifully presented fruit plate, a charcuterie of sliced deli meat and cheese, buns and toast, and eggs to order, as well as Coffee and tea, juices, and yoghurt drinks. Once again Erickson was our server and he was as pleasant and patient and helpful as he had been the night before. Truly, he was as excellent as the food he served. The restaurant features a window wall that looks over the torrential Ulubamba river and the green wall of mountain on the opposite bank.
