We were amazed to find this little gem on our wandering through Alentejo Portugal, which was recommended by a lovely lady who lives nearby. The food is quintessential regional, fresh, local, tasty and lovingly prepared and presented by the owners, a friendly couple. We suggest one of the shared dishes, as they are served on a unique cork contraption devised by the owners. The entire establishment is done in a cork motif which transports you as soon as you pass through the entrance.

Atmosphere: the waiters are really kind and mostly fast. The decoration is trendy and the view really great. You have enough parking space in front of the door. Starters: we had bread, good homemade butter and sweet potatoes. We also ordered scrambled eggs with farinheira. It all tasted really good. Main courses: we had the tuna filet with vegetables and the curry with cashew and mushrooms. It all had a good taste and was served really nice. Dessert: the mousse au chocolate was great and the cheesecake with red fruits tasted delicious.Price: the price was good for the quality you get...If we will stay in Setubal again we will return for sureDear customers. Our thanks for your visit and also for your comment.Cordial greetings

Went there for dinner.2 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts. ⬠40.The pork is sublime. All the dishes are nicely arranged and keep the original taste of the local cuisine whilst being reinterpreted by the chef.

Vegan and Vegetarian options
Stopped here on a lunch break from day trip. Lovely little restaurant, the owner greeted us and was very helpful with ordering (no menu just daily specials). My husband doesnât eat seafood so he had a toasty (ham and cheese sandwich with caramelized onions) which turned out to be amazing! I tried the codfish dish which was like a fish and veggie bake with salad. Was a nice option on a hot day. Really enjoyed it and was a great quick stop.

Our meal at Cafe Havanessa was outstanding in every respect. The food prepared by Florbella was out of this world and was beautifully presented and accompanied by the best Vinho Verde we have ever had. The service was friendly, welcoming and fantastic, and the decor quirky and tasteful. This place is a real find and is a credit to Florbella, who used to be an architect and has now turned her creative passion to the kitchen.

Restaurant ALENTO: Bringing back the typical grandma's food from Alentejo and the well spend evenings around the fireplace. We use only wood burning stove. Cooking is our passion!
Very wellcoming space with wild fish as starter followed by seafood specials (oysters, mussels and rower crab), fish or meat dishes with amazing presentation and finally tasty desserts (tiramisú, cooked pear with vanilla ice cream and crème brûlée) + white wine Coemda Grande Sauvignon BlancThank you very much for your comment, it is always a pleasure to receive you at our home (restaurant). The ALENTO team looks forward to seeing you soon.
