I am very picky on my foods normally, but I wasn't dissapointed at all with the freshness of the food... Over all the food, service and the atmosphere were great. Happy staffs and happy customer!!! Difinetly, stop by again if I pass by... And for sure recommend to my family and friends!!! Thank you all for the great service...

We had a simple lunch of fried rice, Dahl curry, mix roti and coconut sambal. All were beautifully cooked fresh dishes. The owner came over and had a chat after our meal about our travels, his career in fishing and whale watching in the area, which was a nice touch.

Best & delicious indian foods in mirissa.
When we arrived, the bunch of young lads hanging out inside seemed taken by surprise that they had customers. It's low season which I get, but our arrival sprung them into a frenzy of panic it seemed. Ordering was difficult, as they didn't have a lot and they either couldn't understand our accents; or did an awful job of listening properly. Quite abrupt. We eventually ordered whatever they suggested to keep things simple. Which was paneer korma, chicken tandoor and pineapple smoothies. The food came in good time. It definitely wasn't a korma though. I think it was a Madras or Masalla. This tasted okay, but really small portions, with some very sad sides. Smoothies were nice though. The chicken was raw so I sent that back. It came back cooked through, but smothered in overly spicy tandoori sauce to cover up the hack job they had made of it. Not a lot of meat going for it either. I try to remain positive in my reviews for the most part, and wasn't going to review the place at all in truth. But as we were leaving, the waiter insisted that if we had anything "good" to say, leave a review on Tripadvisor. Well I have. The smoothies were nice!

We stayed 3 nights at the Marriott and wanted to go to Big Fish for our last night. However given the current circumstances in Sri Lanka, the hotel occupancy was low and the restaurant was not opened. Weligama Kitchenâs sous-chef managed to still arrange a nice dinner for us at Tides (lounge bar of the hotel). We just picked what we wanted to order fromBig Fish menu the night before and we had a great meal. As for Weligama Kitchen, we had the buffet on our first night with many choices, western and local, the curry crab was excellent! We ordered curry the second night and we offered salads and desserts. They also have a great selection for a quick lunch such as burgers and sandwiches. The staff was very attentive and welcoming. They tried to accommodate us the best they could (for example the juices from the buffet were too sweet for my taste and the immediately asked me if they could make one for without sugar). Breakfast was delicious and very diverse. I couldnât try everything and we had breakfast here 3 times! The chef also packed sandwiches for us when we left to the airport, which was a really nice gesture. Thumbs up to the whole team! Thank you and we hope to come back as soon as the situation is back to normal. Special thanks to Roshan for organizing our last dinner, Jagathees from Tides and Weligama Kitchenâs chef.
