We stayed there for 1 night and were very happy with the comfort and service which owners were able to provide, at a very reasonable cost. The place is only 45 min to 1 hour drive from Schiphol airport, so if you rent a car getting there will be easy and the drive is a pleasant one as well. The B&B is located on a quiet street and looks no different from other houses, also there is no sign (or at least we did not see one), so to find it you will need to look for the street number. It is about 100 meters from the intersection, so if you drive too far it means you missed it. We came at night and were a little confused, but the hostess came out and greeted us, and showed where to park. You enter through a shared kitchen with kettle, coffee machine and a fridge. In your room you will find complementary bottled water, which is very nice compared to other places in Europe which will gladly charge you arm and leg for water. Beds are not wide, but quite long, so tall people will have no problem sleeping there. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and a sink, all spotless and operational. Wi-Fi was also operational and quite fast, due to low number of users I assume. There is a narrow canal behind the building with some wildlife in it which can be observed though a sliding glass door, and a stable with horses on the other side of the canal. Altogether it creates a felling of tranquillity which gets you relaxed especially if you had a busy day. In the morning a generous breakfast is served right in your room: eggs, cheese, salami, several kinds of bread, juice, milk, jam and what not. Overall we liked the place very much and would certainly come back if the opportunity presents itself. The best part is that hosts are very welcoming, they do not turn their B&B in a money-making machine, rather they strive to make their guests fell welcome and enjoy their stay. Easily 5 out of 5!!!

If you like staying in a beautiful Villa in a deluxe room with double boxspringbeds, minibar, safe, coffeemachine, large TV, thick bathrobes and a private bathroom with luxery cabin, then it's a good idea to book a room at Shire B&B for a nice luxery accommodation with a delicious breakfast included!!
In fact, though it is a budget b and b, ultimately it is poor value for money. We were shown to a basement room in the bowels of an annex building; the room had no external window which instead looked out onto the vista of.... a very dingy lounge seating area which had itself no outlook. The room itself was tiny. It was roughly the same size as the atrocious double bed within. The décor, was to be kind, eclectic. The furnishings are car boot sale. There was a strong aroma of mice. The plumbing was sclerotic. There appeared to be pubic hair on the bed linen. Hygiene at the Shire, does not appear to be of a high priority. Indeed the overall vibe of this place is reminiscent of the photos published in the wake of the Josef Fritzl case. We checked out after one night. We are revisiting Medemblik again but we won't be staying at the Shire in Wervershoof. We cannot report on the breakfast fayre. We did not risk it. The hosts were "ok" though they argued the toss about the quality of the room when we left. We had a lively debate about the lack of window which was bordering on semantics and eventually secured a slight refund of our overall booking. We would have left anyway. To conclude, if you are on a very tight budget, and perhaps you are desperate not to sleep on a park bench or in the car, then the Shire might suit. But otherwise, look elsewhere.

Heavenly? Yes. This place oozes character and charm. The birds are singing, the leaves are whispering, and Mike and Karen are accommodating. The breakfast is an enchantingly Dutch. They'll let you use their bikes, unlimited coffee and tea, and a lovely yard to have a fire or read a book. Wervershoof is great for biking or running around, with plenty of water to go and enjoy. If you get the chance, stop by for a slice of paradise.

I stayed here for work, and asked the person at check-in if that was possible. Unfortunately there was no 24/7 reception coverage but the guests were given a key. Bad luck on my side.. only the key of my room and no entrance key. I recommend this hotel if you just need a place to stay because the room was decent. Food in the bar and breakfast was good. Surrounding area and especially the rear view (small water channels and green fields) of the hotel is amazing!
