This was our first hotel stay on Barbados, we normally stay in a villa in the south of the island, but thought we'd experience a hotel for a few days for a special birthday. We didn't regret it. The hotel was spotless, great service, good food. Some might not like not being on the coast, but we had a hire car and only a two minute drive from the ocean. A good relaxing few days, and we'd certainly go back.

Little Good Harbour

This family-run hotel offers personalised service and authentic Caribbean charm and decor. The Fish Pot Restaurant is a well-known restaurant on the island serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and is known for its seafood offerings.

This hotel spoils you for anywhere else

We stayed for thirteen nights in one bedroom cottage B7 at the beginning of April and loved every moment. From our warm welcome by Andrew and Trevor to our last sunny afternoon by the pool we felt that our comfort and happiness was their priority. Little Good Harbour is an oasis of calm, beautiful lush plant life everywhere and it’s wonderful to know that what many reckon to be the best restaurant in Barbados is just across the road. We ate most evenings at the Fish Pot but at lunchtimes we enjoyed getting light meals together in our kitchen. You can get basic foodstuffs from the nearby Moontown store but we also found it worthwhile to make a trip to Massey’s supermarket in Holetown where you can find just about everything you want. Little Good Harbour’s northern location away from the busier main hotel area of the west coast is an asset rather than a problem. It’s a peaceful place and since Barbados is a small island you can easily get anywhere by bus (if you’re brave and don’t mind waiting) or by taxi. Our third stay at Little Good Harbour certainly won’t be our last, so finally - a warning: this hotel spoils you for anywhere else!

Total rip off

Having just booked this hotel and found out that breakfast isn’t included after paying $5000 for a week is a joke, next door is Cobblers Cove which is superb and have been many times and every room includes breakfast, after contacting them they wanted $60 a day for breakfast. Sadly I cannot cancel the holiday as I’ve I’ve gone next door again.

Colleton Guest House

Colleton Guest House Is A Great House In Every Sense…. It Is A Listed Historic House Set In Seven Acres Of Secluded Tropical Gardens On The Fashionable West Coast Of Barbados With Beautiful Views Over The Caribbean Sea.

An understated beautiful house

Colleton House was until 2009 the home of an Australian art collector, many of whose possessions still fill the house, including a well-stocked library and above all his astonishing collection of ethnic art, largely collected in Papua New Guinea, which is now stored in the old stable building. It really belongs in PNG or Australia, and its presence here in Barbados in Colleton House came as a wonderful surprise. The house and gardens overlook the coast, about half a mile inland on a raised plot, and when having your breakfast or afternoon drink you can survey the sea and, perhaps, wonder whether the two fairly substantial cannons in the garden - 6' or possibly 7' long - were ever fired as a warning to an unfriendly vessel. The staff were super, friendly and helpful (for example, Vivian was able to make restaurant bookings for us at places that were "fully booked" when we called them) and breakfast was excellent every day. Our fellow guests - none of whom we had met before - were everything we could have hoped for, and our week long stay was like a comfortable and easy-going house party. I suspect Colleton House attracts guests who do not want the usual Barbados hotel experience. At times it reminded me of the Landmark Trust's offerings, and if you like those' you will certainly like Colleton House. We loved it. Its charms unfolded day by day, and it will be top of the list for us as and when we next go back to Barbados.
