We chose this B&B because it was associated with the Nikolaihof winery, and we have had wonderful experience staying on winery property in other locations. I should have done more research to understand that while close by, the B&B is not connected to the winery, nor does it provide any wine tasting experience or tour of the winery. The property and rooms are very basic, nothing about the decor felt like a winery. In fact, both my husband and I agreed the room decor reminded us of a children's hospital. There was a nice little balcony though with view of the lagoon that we enjoyed sitting on in the afternoon. The only other tranquil, lovely space was the bio pool lounge area....although to call it a pool is a long shot---more like a lagoon that I wouldn't dream of swimming in--tons of algae and vegetation. Our biggest frustration outside of the lack of ambiance was that the wifi didn't work in our room at all and was very spotty in the common dining area. We spoke to Elisabeth about this and she blamed our devices as her computer was working fine. Not very helpful. So we used up most of our travel pass data in our two nights there, which we would have highly preferred reserving for navigation in the car, etc. On to positives of the property: breakfast was plentiful and the service was very good. Also there was a nice offering of Nikolaihof wine and snacks with an honor bar in the lounge area, accessible at all hours. This was great when we arrived hungry the first afternoon and nothing was open in town until dinner time. All in all, clean decent property with nice breakfast but not at all what we were expecting and a bit overpriced in our opinion for what it was.

We went for a family breakfast and it was just amazing. Beautiful setting, really friendly staff and outstanding food. The tea-bar is fantastic and the different home made cordials, juices and fruit smoothies were great. We loved the great variety in different sorts of bread and bread buns. I normally would not have Kaiserachmarren, cake and chocolate dumplings for breakfast, but I thourouly enjoyed every bite. My husband got his fair share of home made sausage and cold meats, and certainly had enough bacon to get him through the next months in our normally vegetarian household. The price for this amazing breakfast is a bargain and we certainly recommend this place and give it 10/10. Our 2 small children, who moved round the place quite a bit had a great time and no one seemed to mind when they were a bit noisy or ran around. What a special place
