Very good hotel, quiet and well cleaned. I recommend it to people who are looking for a cheap hotel with needed accommodations. Close to a supermarket so can be helpful and a nice city. near to this hotel will find a forest for a walk.

For a four star hotel, we were surprised by the disagreeable service. We annoyed the employee by ordering drinks while she was deep in an animated conversation at the bar. After repeatedly trying to order, we asked if she was busy. She replied by saying she was ocupoied with hotel guests and we could leave if we didn’t like the serivice. We did. We won’t be back.

We spent a night here on our way from Calais down to Toulouse. Well situated not too far from autoroute. Secure parking. Great welcome from Josephine - complimentary glass of wine on the terrace. Advice on restaurants and walks in the town. Rooms were lovely (we were 4 in two twin rooms) - breakfast was perfect. We'll defrinitely visit again!

We booked two nights for this place via hotels.com. About an hour before we got there, late in the afternoon, I got an email from them via hotels.com telling me our room was ready and to ring at the gate when we arrived. The place was very hard to find. Address was vague and my two GPSs took us to the middle of a forest where there was nothing. So I called the number for this place which was on the hotels.com confirmation. It was a cellphone number. Odd. A woman with an Eastern European accent answered, “hello?” as if it was a personal call. I asked if this was the Chateau des Forgets hotel. She said yes. I told her we had 2 night reserved from tonight but can’t find the hotel, can she tell us how to get there. She replied that’s impossible, that they had a wedding today and the rooms are fully booked. I replied, how can that be? I got an email from you an hour ago saying my room was ready. She hung up on me. I tried to call back but it kept going to voice mail. She refused to pick up. After driving around the area, we found a “Chateau des Forgets” and concluded this was the place. It looked exactly like the pictures on hotel.com site. The gates were open. We walked through the property and found the chateau. The doors were closed but unlocked. No bell. We walked in. No reception. It looked liked a furnished old Chateau but no front desk, nothing. There was no one around. We called out. No reply. We went towards the back of the chateau where the indoor pool was hoping to find someone, even a maintenance person. Not a person in site. Walking around the property, we realised there was no wedding. The place was deserted. We came across what looked like an annex building. The door was ajar. Peeking in, we saw it was someone’s kitchen with dirty dishes in the sink. We called out. No one. It was something straight out of Twilight Zone. Still wandering the property, we came across what looked like a shooting range building and saw a bunch of Chinese tourists target shooting. They were the only humans we saw on the property. We then saw a sign pointing in one direction, saying “reception” and sighed in relief and walked that way, only to find it was a deserted tent-like structure. We finally called hotels.com who called the property for us. They got the same woman with the same reply. So they found us another hotel for no extra price. As we were heading to the new hotel, I get an sms from someone saying they are the Chateau des Forgets and our room was ready. I replied and told them their service is rude and the woman told us they were full because of a wedding and hung up and that I’ll leave them a bad review. He replied that’s impossible because our room was ready and asked which number told us they were full because there was no wedding. We called the number that sent us the sms. Another cellphone number. It was a young Chinese man whose French wasn’t that good. We told them what happened. We gave him the number of the woman we called and asked who she was. He said she was their “customer relations manager!” He asked us to come back, that our room was ready. We told him, forget it. If that’s your customer service manager, then she should be fired. I can’t believe they try to run a hotel using cellphones and no reception desk. It’s almost too spooky.
