Located between the Saguenay Fjord and the moutains, our lovely hostel is next to the St-Jean salmon river. We offer 8 confortable private rooms as well as one dorm with 5 single bed and 1 double bed. Also, there is a shared kitchen and friendly space that embellish your stay and promote encounters. On site, we have a restaurant and a bar with two terraces. Our specialties are our meals made of the meat & fishes out of our smokehouse.
We did an overnight kayak trip with Fjord en Kayak, and Camp de Base provided the food. Excellent, fresh and vegan meals with non-vegan options. Subsequently, we had dinner at Camp de Base and breakfast the following day. All excellent.

Nice place near the slopes. The common areas are very friendly. It is very nice to be able to cook your own lunchs and dinners. The continental breakfast is very good. The rooms are a bit small but very clean and comfortable.

The Chalets are great. Well kept, nice space and very comfortable set up. The location is great to explore the Saguenay Region. We went early November and the area was very quiet. A lot of tourist places, restaurants and museums were closed, but there are great hiking trails and viewing locations available. Town people were very friendly. The one major draw back of the Chalet we stayed in are the beds. Both queen beds in unit 39 (2 bedroom) were absolutely horrid. There is no support, couples roll toward the middle due to breakdown of mattress, which results in sore backs and poor nights sleep - no matter how young you are. A reservation through RCI also seems to be treated poorly. We were given a back row Chalet with very limited view, despite there being only 1 other chalet occupied for a few days. The resort was basically empty with no activity. Bottom line - I would recommend this resort, wonderful chalets, well kept, beautiful location and easy access to surrounding towns, villages and hiking trails.

We stayed there in one of the chalets in July 2016 (family of 4 - adults) and had a fantastic time. We kept saying how we wanted to stay longer! The staff on arrival was extremely friendly and helpful. The chalet was more than we expected! Spacious, well equipped, comfortable (except the sofa bed in the sitting room but not a big deal), and the environment was just wonderful. We had a BBQ and campfire, and loved sitting out on the porch! One thing though - don't forget the insect repellent because the mosquitoes and midges are ferocious! The only thing they could improve is a longer opening time for the swimming pool, but as we did not come for sunbathing, this was not a problem to us.
