Joshua Tree National Park encompasses approximately 800,000 acres of desert land just 40 miles east of the California-Nevada border. The land has been inhabited by humans for an estimated 5,000 years, filling it with a rich history as well as numerous archeological sites and historical structures.
Famous for its biodiversity, Joshua Tree is home to more than 800 different plant species. Visit between the months of March and June to view the impressive wildflowers in full bloom. Many of the local species close up during the cool nights and reopen with the sunshine in the morning, so don’t be fooled by the barren appearance at twilight.
Hiking trails are by far the primary attraction at Joshua Tree. If you and your family have never been to Joshua Tree before, there are a few hikes you won’t want to miss. The first is the Lost Horse Mine, a historical mine located inside the National Park. You can explore the mine itself or stroll along the 6.5 mile loop surrounding the site, where you can see other mines as well as Malpais Hill. The second must-see attraction is Carey’s Castle, a series of abandoned caverns that were once inhabited by squatters who worked in the nearby mines.

I stayed at this property for 2 nights alone while visiting Joshua Tree. First of all the location was fantastic. % minutes from the entrance to the park and on the main strip so I was able to walk to dinner. The owner Ravi is wonderful and very nice. The room was a bit dated but boy did my feet love the plush carpet after a day of hiking. It was also nice to not deal with any stairs and have my car parked in front of the room. Basic toiletries- bar soap & shampoo in the room. The room had a decent size fridge and a microwave. The shower was nothing exciting but it did the job. The courtyard was very nice but it was too cold in January to enjoy for too long. Great location and affordable. All in all I recommend this hotel.

This delightful campground offers more than just tenting. We stayed in a shipping container outfitted as a tiny house. It was delight! Had every amenity anyone could want. We ate on the roof deck under the stars! Minutes away from the Joshua Tree park North entrance it was the perfect spot!

We’re bringing the iconic outdoor AutoCamp Airstream experience to the sprawling, picturesque desert of Joshua Tree. Visit our newest location just outside of Joshua Tree National Park and relax in the mid-century modern Quonset Hut Clubhouse before grabbing a cocktail at the outdoor bar and exploring the local artist installations around the property. In the warmer months, dive right in with a refreshing dip in our large plunge pool (turned hot tub in the winter months).
My wife and I checked out this new place out of curiosity. I wouldn’t come back. While it’s nice that everything is just built and the campers are new, that’s all it has going for it. AutoCamp is WAY overpriced- about double what it should be. The main issue is the location. They chose a terrible location to build this place. Basically a dirt lot sandwiched between the highway and ugly neighborhood homes. What a mistake. No character at all. I don’t even recall seeing more than one Joshua tree on the property. If you like walking around a big hot dirt lot with way too many campers placed next to each other without any privacy, you’ll like it here. I would have expected a place like this to have built in a more remote area of Joshua Tree, with more character. There are better places to stay in the (overdeveloped) area, away from this place they built along the busy highway next to random homes. If you’re going to check out an AutoCamp, be prepared to open your wallet big time (one night was over $550), and chose a location like Yosemite or Sonoma (both way overpriced as well) that have better settings.

This architectural gem sits as a landmark one mile from the west entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. Commanding magnificent mountain and desert valley views, it offers luxury lodging and event venue space that features both indoor and outdoor rooms, which will instantly connect you with the raw, mojave desert landscape. You'll be wowed by the sunsets and overcome by the beauty of the night sky.
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the National Park. It was pleasant, but for the price I expect a bit more in the way of amenities. Very close to the park entrance, but also close to the main road with a fair amount of traffic noise when sitting outside. Room was nicely appointed with a comfortable bed and a delightful shower. But: no TV, no ice machine (knees need ice after long hikes), no hot tub (wasn’t advertised to have one, but ditto on the after-hike joint and muscle needs.) Also, really no one onsite to talk to about any concerns or questions.

There were 2 large beds but the room itself was small. In order for one person to walk in the room others would have to sit on the bed. The furniture and the walls were shabby. The walls were painted in some weird colors. The beds were hard and the pillows were flat. The location was OK for visiting Joshua Tree National Park.
