Come home to Adair and fall in love again.
We went to Adair Country Inn recently, from March 11-14. We'd never been, but wanted to find a nice place here in NH to relax and enjoy, a truly dog-friendly place to bring our dog Lola. What a perfect find! Quiet and peaceful, with a ton of land to explore (which we all loved, especially Lola!). Our room was very clean and comfortable, the entire staff was super friendly and accommodating, the breakfasts were incredible (and the popovers are a real nice touch). Dinners were so good, we simply ate in the restaurant each night...kudos to the chef. It's 5 minutes from Littleton if you feel like going, and 5 minutes from Rek-lis Brewery right there in Bethlehem. We visited both, but really enjoyed everything about Adair Country Inn. We are already trying to figure out when we will be going back!

Recently stayed at The Wayside Inn for a couple of nights and will definitely be going back. Great location, right by a beautiful river, and just a short drive into town. Close to many hikes, Littleton, and Franconia. Innkeeper was great. Our room was really pretty, nice clean hardwood floors, spacious, bathroom the same. Comfortable patio out back by the river where we had dinner. Fell asleep each night listening to the river. Can't wait to visit again.

Boutique Style Hotel at the Gateway to the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
The hotel looked different from the filtered pictures online. We spent the Memorial weekend here in this hotel, it’s location is good, only couple of minutes from White Mountain trails. However our stay was very unpleasant. As you can see from the picture, the water was in light yellow color and the jacuzzi didn’t work. We filled the tub for 3 times trying to get rid the yellow water. It didn’t work, the water was just yellow. I’m very concerned about the water safety here, be sure to check the water before putting your kids into the tub. We didn’t have carpets in our room, and the floor was sticky. I respect and understand hotels’ quiet hours policy. However it may vary, depending on different situation. The family stayed upstairs was extremely loud, they kept moving furniture and running around from 7pm to 9:45pm something last night. I called the front desk but the staff refused to do anything because their “quiet hours” started from 10pm. Again, they had no carpets in the room so it could be really really loud. Imagine living in a room below a construction room. We couldn’t do anything before 10:00pm, and our puppy was so frightened by the sudden pounding noises. We had to calm her for hours. We had very little sleep that night. Then the next morning, the noise started from around 7:00am and it kept going. We had to checkout at 9:00am to get some peace.

Designed for couples only to getaway and relax in the White Mountains, Bear Mountain Lodge is a log bed & breakfast reminiscent of those in our National Parks. Built of huge logs and decorated with comfortable western furniture, the Lodge is warm and inviting from the moment you walk through the front doors and catch a glimpse of Mt. Washington. With 10 romantic guest rooms, panoramic views, crackling fires and great breakfasts, we've created an atmosphere where you can unwind and feel at home.
Went during president's day weekend and although the host Michael was nice and accommodating, I don't think the room was worth $1000 for the 3 nights we stayed. It was definitely overpriced. We stayed in Bear Den. If you are a light sleeper, I don't advise you to book this room as it is right underneath the kitchen. While we knew the room was in the basement, the room is one of the more expensive rooms so we were not happy hearing loud echoing footsteps above our heads early in the morning. Figured the room would be further away, more private. Also, the mattress is old, soft, creeks and has a dent. The bed is very uncomfortable! Our backs hurt. It would be great to change that mattress out for future guests....it's time. There were other issues with the room but I won't go into details because Michael took care of it. Moreover, I am not fond of the element of surprise when it comes to my food. As a B&B lodge, guests should know what they are eating a head of time. Michael did ask us our first night if we are allergic to anything and that was it. Had we had known we eat what he gives us, we wouldn't have booked. Really? For example, I don't eat eggs, yet, an egg dish was served. There were no other options and that's not fair to guests. I understand cutting costs, saving money, what I don't understand is not serving more options when people are paying for a B&B experience. That was disturbing to me. I KNOW I am particular. Quality, cleanliness, the ambiance, the vibe are all important factors to me. I get every one is not like me and I probably complained about things other guests may have not have had a problem with and that's my business. I paid my hard earned money. Finally, the walkway area outside, area to walk to our car was slippery there was no salt or sand. Had we not held on to each other, one of us could have slipped and fall not cool! Guests have to remove their shoes upon entrance because Michael does not want his hardwood floors damaged with the salt. Ok fine, but at least salt the area for guests as a tradeoff. Overall, the experience was not what we expected and there are way too many rules for grown adults. We won't be back.
