The Maule Region (Spanish: VII Región del Maule, pronounced [ˈmau̯.le]) is one of Chile's 15 first order administrative divisions. Its capital is Talca. The region derives its name from the Maule River which, running westward from the Andes, bisects the region and spans a basin of about 20,600 km. The Maule river is of considerable historic interest because, among other reasons, it marked the southern limits of the Inca Empire.

My wife and I stayed two nights at Danilo and Alejandra's farm. They were absolutely great. Not only did we feel very welcome, but we were like a part of their family. We stayed in a small bedroom with a queen-size bed in one of the side buildings, and even though we shared a bathroom with another couple, the accommodations felt very private and everything was really clean and well maintained. Danilo and Alejandra were also very flexible when it came to arranging a custom experience for us. While we didn't have time for one of the long, multi-day trips into the mountains, they designed a perfect day ride for us around the hills of Rari, where we got to explore, see one of Danilo's horse herds, and gallop the horses. We are experienced riders, but beginners and children would have enjoyed the experience just as much. Prior to our arrival, Alejandra communicated with us via WhatsApp, so we had no problem coordinating our itinerary and arrival. We ate really well during the trip: traditional Chilean breakfasts of bread, eggs, fruit and cheese, lunches of meat and rice, and an asado for dinner, all included in the price. Everything was done extremely well, and was beyond my expectations. I look forward to going back the next time I'm in Chile, and I would like to bring my kids as well. Thanks Danilo and Alejandra!
