Top 6 Horseback Riding Tours in Cody, Wyoming (WY)

September 5, 2021 Carley Gatson

Cody, named for its legendary founder, Buffalo Bill Cody, remains as full of Old West adventure as it was during the days when Bill himself roamed Wyoming. Serving as the Eastern gateway to Yellowstone National Park, Cody is just a few miles away from pristine wilderness where actual buffalo can still be seen. The town attracts tourists and cowboys alike with reenactments of famous shoot-outs, restored frontier buildings and with the Cody Stampede, which the town hosts every July 4.

What can I say that others haven't already?! We had a nights stay at the Ranch and booked a ride for the following morning. Pooch introduced himself and we immediately knew we would be in safe hands. He knew my husband and I had zero experience with horses and picked horses for us based on this. We couldn't have been happier with our experience, both Pooch & Gus explained things simply and we set off in no time! You can tell both men really care for the animals. We had a lot of fun, were treated to some amazing views throughout the trail and have so many wonderful pictures (mainly taken by Pooch thank you!!).

This is the place to ride horses while in Cody. We arrived around 4pm and they helped us on our horses and we were on our way! The horses were very well mannered and the staff was very helpful and nice. We rode for an hour and there are some beautiful views during the ride. It’s totally worth the money and time while in Cody.
