This was my first time in Linköping and I stayed the bed and breakfast in Gamla linköping and I was nog disappointed. The whole area with its small shops, preserved buildings from a long lost time was wonderful just to wander around in and enjoy. Loved the mini-museums as well. Will definitly return to Linköping just for this place

Finding the viking rock carvings proves difficult because the name Himmelstalund seems to refer to everything around. Find the swimming pool and a path next to it leads into the large grass meadows, turning into a boardwalk where you find the carvings some 800 mtr. further. The carvings shows boats, animals etc and are clearly marked in red. They are flat on the ground and not covered. Of course the visit to the park as well as parking is free.
