Top 6 Historical & Heritage Tours in Johor Bahru District, Johor

A bargain shopper’s delight is just across the causeway in Malaysia, with numerous bus and train services available to ferry travelers across the border. The largest and most popular malls are easily accessible from the checkpoint and offer a blend of name-brand and knockoff shopping. Dig deeper and you’ll appreciate the city’s differences, good and bad, from Singapore, though rumors of rampant crime are overblown. Museums and places of worship abound, along with good dining for any budget. A new premium outlet mall opened just outside the city in December 2011, and keep an eye on the new Legoland Malaysia, slated to open at the end of 2012.

Light up your evening with your favorite local on a unique private tour from busy Kuala Lumpur to the quiet neighboring village of Kuala Selangor. Whether you are fascinated by temples or captivated by nature, this tour has a great mix and will be an unforgettable experience! Head together with your new local friend towards Kuala Selangor and enjoy the views along the way. Malaysia is famous for having a rich multicultural history. There is no better way to catch those vibes than visiting a rural area that has three remarkable temples from three different religions. And don't miss the cows grazing alongside these temples, it's a wonderfully pastoral sight. By now the sun is starting to go down, and it's time to see the most incredible highlight of this trip, the fireflies! Hop in a boat and float down the river as the fireflies flicker all around you. This is a truly magical experience and will be one to remember.

Forget about the massive bus queues at the border, get into Malaysia with ease in a couple of minutes from Singapore via a special direct cross-border locomotive train service. Johor Bahru City Centre is a small and easily-walkable Malaysian town, but visiting on a group tour can mean unnecessary stops and limited time to explore. This half-day self-guided tour offers the best of both worlds, with round-trip transport by train, plus plenty of free time to take in the sights that interest you most. Remember to download and print your personalized walking map with attraction details before departure to ensure a smooth border experience.

Inclusions: Round-trip transport by special direct cross-border locomotive train, Personalized downloadable walking map with attraction details (compulsory to print before departure), Great glimpse of Malaysia, All taxes, fees and handling charges, Gratuities

Exclusions: Hotel pickup and drop-off, Food and drinks, Foot and body massage (about US$18 for 60 minutes)

Part of my bias is likely due to the rain. It was a good tour, but obviously some of the out door stuff was a bit problematic. So be careful of this during the rainy season. Lunch was delicious and the massage was great, as was out tour guide. I’d recommend giving it a try if you’re looking for a day away from Singapore.

Our flight from Australia was delayed by almost 3 hours nevertheless a driver was waiting for us in the arrivals area. We were very thankful for that! The vehicle was Not a Limo as ordered but............. was a replacement vehicle with a driver filling in for our originally booked Driver and Limo. In view of the circumstances it was pretty good.
