5 of us hired electric bikes for a couple of hours. Was just the best craic I’ve had in a long time. Adeline, laughs, thrills & fantastic scenery. The guys at Castlewellan were very (funny?) and extremely helpful. Would defiance recommend this activity. Devon, Paul and all the others, thanks for great memories.

North Down Coastal Path

Seals and wildflowers are some of the attractions on this nature walk that hugs the southern shore of Belfast Lough from Holywood to Portavoe.

I have walked and cycled the North Down Coastal Path (from Helen's Bay or Cultra to Bangor) a number of times. It is always outstandingly beautiful. It is very easily accessible as there are a number of train stations along the way. It is more of a rough stony and gravel path from Cultra to Helen's Bay, but the paths will mainly be smooth tarmac from there on to Bangor. There are a couple of small beaches along the way as well for putting your feet in the water. And there's the option to go into Crawfordsburn Country Park which is beautiful as well.

Rostrevor Mountain Bike Trails

The Rostrevor Mountain Bike Trails offer some of the most exhilarating mountain biking in all of Ireland. With a mouth watering 27km red trail, a hair-raising 19km black trail and not just one but two purpose-built downhill trails there’s no denying it… Rostrevor is a mountain bikers’ haven!

Just home from rostrevor MTB trails with the brother, what a day,did about 1 1/2 loops of the red trail. I'd rate these trails as the best in northern Ireland IMHO. I hear people complain about the terrible steep climb at the start of the red route....of course it's a climb,Ur on a mountain! U gotta go up b4 u can go down. Guess it depends on how fit u are rather than the trails fault. Once at the top Ur rewarded with fast single track u can attack or take a bit more gently. Great views, great biking, beautiful part of r wee country!
