Had an early flight out from Narita Airport and was looking for places to visit and things to do during the evening before that. Didn't do much of research but came across this park and decided to head there. The park was a very pleasant surprise. Wandered around it for over an hour. Beautiful Japanese architecture combined with landscape garden elements. I visited in mid February and managed to catch plum blossoms in full bloom. Autumn colours will most likely look absolutely stunning in here. Also, If you're heading out of Japan and looking to pick up some souvenirs, there's plenty of vendors right outside the park area. This place has pretty much everything one could hope for. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Narita.

Mount Nokogiri used to be a quarry, and on top of the hill there’s a centuries-old Buddhist retreat. If you are lucky to come on a fine day you can enjoy sweeping views of Tokyo Bay and even Mount Fuji in the vista.

What exactly is Experience Museum, Boso-no-mura? Boso-no-mura is a facility that reproduces a Japanese scenery of 150 years ago at the Boso area (including the Narita Airport area) which were old samurai residences, and farmhouses, and other buildings. Here, you can experience first-hand various types of Japanese culture such as traditional crafts and events that have been passed down through the generations. The facility also has a museum that features exhibits from the primitive era to the present. There are about 400 types of demonstrations and hands-on experien ce programs that are offered during the year. Here we present a few of them. ※Please mail or fax us in advance to ask about the schedules for hands-on programs.
This is a combination of a "historical site" and a movie set; as such not much of it is original or old, but it is all in the style of old. The Merchant's street evokes Japan during the Samurai times. It is a pleasant place to visit.

Had a 12 hour layover at Narita, and I think from now on I will try to get long layovers here because of this place. Incredibly peaceful with a nice selection of pools and a sauna. This place is top notch. Entry fee was very reasonable and once you’re in, you can soak indoors and outdoors, sauna, take a shower, read a book and sip tea with great views, and eat some great sushi upstairs. They also had an excellent sake and wine selection. 100% worth the short walk and train ride from the airport. Can’t say enough how relaxing and great this experience was.
