We went to this restaurant which is located right in the middle of the tourist area. Surprisingly there were no other guests at around 7 pm. Only the staff having a meeting or a coffee break. Greek salad was good as it almost always is and so was saganaki. Main dishes were ok. Lamb chops and local meat stew ( a little dry). Price level ok. Under 40 e all together including drinks (ouzo, beer, sangria and lemonade). We were not happy to learn that the restaurant only accepts cash payments! It was our last evening at the destination so we were a little low on cash. We feel that card payments should be accepted in any restaurant these days! Service was nothing special. When not serving on us (since we were the only customers) the waiter boy was holding hands with his co-worker girl in the background which we found a little akward. We had better meals during our holiday and so we would not feel any need to go back.

A very pleasant evening meal with good food and very friendly and efficient service team . Strange to say though the service was almost a bit too rapid and the whole experience from cocktail to departure with 3 courses and coffee in between was barely an hour. Well priced and happy to return on another visit .

Although not the best Greek taverna we have ever eaten in, our party of 6 had a great range of meals and all polished them off. The staff were very friendly and attentive and not a hint of overcharging. We all ordered Greek dishes and they didnât disappoint. The Greek âdancingâ and plate smashing at one point felt a little forced and ungenuine but it only lasted a couple of minutes and then it all returned to normality. 4 of our party returned for a 2nd visit during our week stay so it must be good!

Before coming I had read such great things about the service and the enormous portions of food and the cheap prices here. I have to say though, that our experience didnât quite mirror what other people have said.The food was nice. Overall not the best we had. But nice. My Zakynthian Chicken main was the highlight. Everything else was just NICE. The service was actually a bit chaotic, which seems in total contrast to most of the reviews. Some people were offered bread. Others were not. Some peopleâs orders were taken quickly. Some seemed to sit for a long time. Some people got their food quickly. Others seemed to be waiting. We were somewhere in the middle. We waited slightly longer than the norm compared to other places. Service was fine, but not especially friendly. We did not get offered or presented anything complimentary which again, seems in contrast to some other reviews and in fact some of the other tables around us. Which is fine. I wasnât expecting or demanding it. But equally we did wonder why it happened for some and not others. Price wise I also disagree with some reviews. It certainly wasnât expensive. But I would say it was about the same as most places we ate at.Iâm sounding mainly negative I know. But overall we enjoyed the food. It was very near to our hotel. We would likely return another year to give them another go.

Back to Tsilivi again, and just had to go back to this marvellous restaurant. Alex and his family greet you like old friends, nothing is too much trouble. The food is superb home cooked traditional fayre. Zakynthian local dishes all cooked with care and love. The local wine is some of the best I have tasted and the frigania is delicious! When you leave, Alex always says "thank you for joining us this evening." You feel like you have been invited into his home, and treated to the best Greek meal you are likely to have while on holiday.Dear guest Thank you for your time to review us and for the nice compliments.
