Since 2002 I have been searching for a restaurant that could meet my standard of a hollandaise sauce. Even so called gourmet restaurants used the factory produced snot! Today my waiter, Lee, informed me that the sauce is freshly made in the kitchen. So I dared to order the dish in the hope that I would be happy......I was not happy ....... I WAS ECSTATIC!!!!!! I jumped up after my first taste and demanded to speak to the staff member that prepared the sauce. The Ladies name was Zintle. She looked like a dear trapped in headlights as i looked at her through the window into the kitchen. The smile on her face as i complimented her work was priceless. The service from Lee further complimented the meal perfectly. I will be back for more.

Just had the most fantastic breakfast at this new eatery on the grounds of Constantia uitsig. Wonderful cozy atmosphere in this converted farm cottage. Just the thing for a cold winters day in the cape.Excellent service, very quick food delivery and most importantly very tasty food.I had the frittata which was the best I have had to date. The family had eggs Benedict.My only complaint was the hot chocolate was weak and watery.Will definitely be back.

visited this eatery for the first time even though my wife has previously visited it with her friendsclose to Belvedere Sq and hidden behind a large hedgesecretly tucked away in a secret garden setting lies the Starlings cafewe ordered breakfast and both of us through enjoyed the coffee alongside our mealsetting is quaint and would be lovely for couples or family only downside to the morning was the non interaction of the waiting staff and i hate having to get up and either ask for the bill or pay at a tillthis is what eventually transpired with me having to go and pay at the till point insidenot a big gripe but it put small downer on enjoyable morningGlad you found Starlings & sorry about the delay in getting your bill. Appreciate the review!

This is truly a hidden Gem in Hout bay. i took my fiance for supper at this fine restaurant last night and her remarks were : we must go there again. Superb Service, great Ambiance not crowded at all. I left there very happy. The meat was great. The soft music and the dimming of the lights also added to the good feel. Quentin, thank you for your hospitality and the excellent food.

A surprisingly good coffee with exceptional service. We each wanted to pay separately - no problems - even when none of us had the correct change. Our waiter was courteous and helpful and efficient and prompt with change. The coffee was terrific and we loved sitting out in the sunshine after a lengthy walk around the gardensWe are as passionate about our coffee as we are about food.
