Lukmaan restaurant has been serving local cuisine to locals and tourists for over ten years now.Our new location under the Baobab Tree has become more favourite for its open air and live cooking enviroment.Welcome and enjoy the spiritual healthy eating un
Had lunch at this place around 200 metres from the historic slave market site. Really good selection of local authentic food and very reasonable prices. You either queue up at different counters for your food or can get waitress service. As well as ground floor there is also a upstairs terrace. Great place for lunch as part of a day in Stone Town

Dining at the Beyt Al Salaam rvoutique hotel is to experience Zanzibar. The restaurant is unobtrusively located on the ground floor, away from the rooms. Since its opening it is considered the finest dining establishment within Zanzibar's Stone Town.
Although we werenât hungry had the beef samosas and prawn chowmein. Great service and good quality food. Recommended. Breezing terraces for both restaurant and bar, Mediterranean food, pizza, wine bar
We were a bit tired of seafoods, Indian and Swahili cuisine so we looked up where we could eat good pizza, and there are several choices out there , we chose this one since itâs the closest to our hotel. But oh boy, we got lucky this time with out relying on any reviews or hotel recommendations etc... The host was friendly, the head waiter was very accommodating and atmosphere was very good. The entrance is filled of spices and gift items you can buy for your people back home. Then you come to a narrow staircase, the landing areas were nicely decorated and the restaurant itself with the tea room or lounge area. The highlight though was the pizzas we ordered, proper pizza oven, the experienced and friendly -Ali- who prepared the pizzas for us. Highly recommended for pizzas when youâre in the area of Stone Town. Five stars for the staffs and the pizza. We will definitely drop by for pizza when in town again.

Roof top restaurant overlooking the old city of Stone Town and the indian ocean. The Taarab, offers scrumptious breakfasts by day and transforms into a romantic, atmospheric a la carte restaurant by sun-down offering outside terrace and indoor sittings.
Let me start off saying I love food. Anywhere I go I search and want to ensure I have the best meals. I came across Taarab and decided I wanted to bring my family of 8 here. Being from the USA, you have to temper expectations when you visit countries like Zanzibar. Essentially it was a bad experience from the start. We waited 20 minutes to get our water - we were the only customers in at 3pm on a Wednesday. Then our bread came out cold, and we had to send it back. After about an hour, our food came out from the kitchen, we ordered everything, from appetizers to their famous seafood platter ($70USD). EVERYTHING was terrible. I called out the chef, and I made him hold our appetizer, it was a fried lobster roll, I explained to him how is something cold when itâs fried? I then made him hold a fry, same thing. The chef was pretty baffled. He offered to bring us food, but letâs be honest here, we all know he wouldâve gone and thrown it in the microwave. I had a really really bad experience here, I walked up and left the restaurant angrily after giving them a piece of my mind. I didnât pay for anything because nothing was eaten. I spoke to the Hilton staff downstairs before I left, but I hope you have a better experience than I did. I really wish I wouldâve just gone to Emerson, but hey you win some and lose some!Dear Anil L,So sorry to read about your disappointment. We appreciate both positive and negative comments as it help us improve our guest experience. We are sorry you did not fall into the very satisfied guests and we apologize for the shortfall in the service and we are so sorry to learn that the experience did not live up to your expectations.Just to let you know, The fried lobster roll is part of the cold salad section and it is served cold. However our Deputy General Manager did talk to you and agreed to offer you and invite you for dinner also but as you mentioned you were angry and just walked away.Cuisine not being an exact science it can happen that one can have a less exciting experience than others. What you might have heard regarding our Roof top Taarab restaurant is that we have a huge a la carte menu and that our cuisine is delicious as this is what 99% of our customers are reporting. We are however keen to reach everybody's satisfaction therefore if passing by our restaurant again please allow us to give it an other try, knowing your expectations, we shall be happy to a special exercise for you.Culinary yours,Chef Shafeek

Fisherman's Seafood & Grill at the Doubletree by Hilton Resort Zanzibar - Nungwi offers a mouthwatering array of international and fusion specialties, unique to this part of the Island. This Zanzibari restaurant allows you to experience the perfect blend
Great service and food We stayed at the Hilton and so had a choice of the buffet and the fisherman grill. We ate here multiple times and had a great experience . The staff are attentive and very welcoming . The food is served promptly unlike some restaurants nearby where the wait can be very long. Great variety in food - Indian , local , seafood etc however the manager mentioned that there may be some further expansion to the menu to include some more classic favourites. He even offered to make us dishes not on the menu - an example of the great service that is on offer hereDrinks are reasonably priced as is the overall menu . It is marginally More expensive than nearby local restaurants however the comfort , cleanliness and service is superior so I was happy to pay the little extra in price .Comfortably 4 or 5 stars and would recommend Dear Jaglatne,Thank you indeed for taking the time to review your dining experience at Fisherman's Seafood & Grill. We are delighted to hear that you have enjoyed your meal with us.I have passed your feedback to our restaurant and kitchen team and we hope to host you once more on future visitsSincerely Yours,Ramy WaheedDeputy General Manager
