We stopped in for a glass of wine and then came back the next day for dinner. Miro, the young man who manages the restaurant was a great help to us when we could not find our vrbo! I love eating and when go abroad like trying local food. In Portugal I wanted to eat fish and seafood and chose this restaurant. I arrived quite late, but the waitress asked the owner and I was served regardless the time. She was speaking English, which was good for me. I was asked by the owner to come and have a look at the fishes, I loved it. Picked one whiteout knowing what it was. It was grilled in front of me. The waitress recommended house wine, vinho verde, which I have fallen in love. Fish and salad I had was the best thing ever. If I was staying in Vila do Conde longer, I would eat there few more times. Fantastic!

Visited various times since opening, nice setting by the river, has a nice esplanade when the weather permits and the setting inside is nicely decorated but tight, not much space inbetween the tables. The menu is like the other Capa Negras francesinhas, various steaks and snacks. Extensive beer list and limited wine list. Last week they opened up the top floor fore a more fine dining experience. The view at night is simply unreal. Excellent starters, a wide variety of meat and fish dishes (from Lobster rice to t bone steaks on the charcoal. Extensive wine list and fabulous desserts. Service is polite and the price reasonable. Will continue visiting.

Our Portuguese friend took us there for late breakfast - early lunch. Was really good - prawns and seafood risotto excellent. They even served me other coffee than espresso - because if u don't know in Portugal u lol be laugh out if u order sth different than espresso! Restaurant worth recommending :)

We were attrached to this restaurant because of the glowing review it received in our Rough Guide from 2014 but prices clearly have risen exponentially since then and instead of the 12 euro delicious fish lunch we were promised, we ended up paying around 50 euros for two. We went for the John Dory but wish we had in retrospect gone for the sea bass. Lots of locals dining there which is a very good sign but I wonder whether they pay the same price as we did...
