Had a nice meal here after looking for somewhere better than the local Wetherspoons...nothing against 'spoons but there are better pubs for food. And this is certainly one of them. The pub contained a lot of locals but was very welcoming to visitors. Barmaid was quite chatty and the food menu is extensive. I settled on the "Newport Destroyer" burger which is claimed to be very hot (spicy). It was quite spicy but also tasty with the jalapeno peppers not overpowering the meat - which was first rate. The chips were a little salty but were wonderful, definitely hand cut, seasoned and cooked on site by a skilled chef. Atmosphere in the pub in the afternoon was lively with a couple of families and some regular pub-goers at the bar...but not noisy. Decor is nice, staff all seem polite. Recommended.

Welcome to The Green Coffee Lounge and Restaurant in Caerleon, South Wales. We are situated in a pretty enclave of the small town of Caerleon which has a history steeped in Roman times with many local tourist attractions close by. We're open every day for
Such a lovely surprise to walk into The Green. What used to be your average type boozer is now a trendy chic cafe.. Seats outside on the green, plenty of seating inside. The decor is bright fresh & rustic. A well stocked hot & cold breakfast/lunch menu.. We popped in on the off chance during a busy Friday, sunny lunchtime. Luckily we managed to get a seat inside. It was very busy.. That was a bit of a clue as we had walked through Caerleon village to see other eateries not so! We went for hot panninis served with side salad & chunky chips. Coffees, iced cold water.. All in for under a tenner (for two).. The food was fresh, tasty, presented well... Worth the 30mins wait.. The cake selection looked yummy. Regret not having a second coffee!! The staff were very good also.. What more can I say... A joy to have sampled the delights of 'The Green Caerleon'.. If your in Caerleon head for The Green...
