It is also the capital of the Maseru District. Located on the Caledon River, Maseru lies directly on the Lesotho-South Africa border. Maseru is Lesotho's capital city with a population of approximately 253,000. The city was established as a police camp and assigned as the capital after the country became a British protectorate in 1869. When the country achieved independence in 1966, Maseru retained its status as capital. The name of the city is a Sesotho word meaning "red sandstones".

Galito's is chicken place and is authentic flavor and delicious. I had lunch and ordered nala meal and it was a combination of rice with chicken and also grilled chicken. It was tasty at a reasonable price and filling. Orders to take away is also available and many seating that can serve large group is available. The menu is chicken related and has a choice in the form of burger, fried and grilled. Also, meal type combo is available if you need complete meal. I recommend Galito's for chicken and authentic flavor.

I am not really a Spur fan, but i have to say that the food, portions and the service is fantaistic. This is on par with some of the best Spurs in SA. Their chicken liver starters and fillets were fantastic and really well prepared.
