St. John’s vibrant main town and port, Cruz Bay is home to most of the 28-square-mile island’s restaurants, bars, stores and dive centers. Two-thirds of affluent St. John is a national park, and many safari buses and jeeps set out from Cruz Bay. Don’t miss local art and history at Elaine Ione Sprauve Museum or the pristine sand of Hawksnest Bay, popular with snorkelers due to its nearby reef. There is no airport; ferries connect the town of 2750 with other U.S. and British Virgin Islands.

St. John Beach Bum is
We rented a kayak from Beach Bum and were able to explore parts of the island that we wouldn't have been able to see otherwise. The owner was very helpful and friendly. He helped us secure the kayak to our Jeep and in a few short minutes we were off. Also the price for the rental was very reasonable. I highly recommend doing this on your next trip!

Every year when we visit St John we make sure to stop at the Pink Papaya! We collect the coconuts that are hand painted to look like fish. This is my favorite souvenir that we ship home to hang in our porch! Linda the owner is wonderful and she has a variety of gifts from unique jewelry to great signs about St. John!!

I've wanted a yellow gold hook bracelet for 15 years. We visited St. Thomas in Dec. of 2017 and I was unable to find one at the Havensight Mall. When we were planning to return I did some research and someone recommended St. John Bracelet Company. I am so glad they did. We took a taxi to the Red Hook Ferry terminal and headed over to St. John. The had just what I wanted (and would have made me something if they hadn't) I purchased a beautiful bracelet and my husband had one made that they shipped to us. Definitely a must see if you're on St. John.

Great selection here at St John Gourmet. They gave a salad bar in the back. Many gluten free and dairy free options. Truly gives starfish a run for their money. Bring your own bags. Also if shopping for more than 5 min wear a sweatshirt. They keep it very cool.

We’ve been coming to Coral Bay for a two-week winter getaway for 20+ years now. This is the less-populated side of the island and services here are rebuilding after the 2017 hurricanes. We stop at all of the food markets in the neighborhood when we come. Aside from Josephine’s which has the best (but limited) salad ingredients, Dolphin offers the best fruit and other produce here. It’s easier to just stop in than to try to order online or call ahead.
