Was will man mehr. Empfehlung: der Andalö-Sprizz ist sehr lecker...

This place became famous because of a late night show on German television. In the meantime it has more friends on FB than any other restaurant in the world. This is also a great place for dinner. Everybody is really nice and the food is great, too!One of my favorite places on the island!

First, you need to make the decision to go to Pellworm on the north eastern coast of Germany. Why? Because this tiny island is one of the most remarkable places in all of Europe. From its amazingly flat landscapes to its unbelievable warmly welcoming people, trust me â this place is truly special. You come here and it just has that feel â like you have entered a special little corner of the world. Sold yet? I hope so.Which of course begs the question, that once you are here, âWhere the heck are ya gonna eat?â And lucky you for having read this review, because I am going to tell you that you must, absolutely must, go to Gasthaus Hoogefaehre.Upon entering youâll be struck how this place totally fits in with German âgemutlichkeitâ, where the atmosphere is simple but just so warm and friendly. Next, youâll notice how there are a good number of tables â but not too many â and whether they are inside or on the terracxe that they are all well-spaced apart. So, even before you order drinks or food, you are feeling welcomed and relaxed. YES!Next, on to the food. Well, my wife and I were so impressed with the quality and quantity of the food we were served that we had dinner here two nights in a row. Each time fish was on the menu. Now, I have no idea who the cook is or was, but that guy or woman sure as heck knows how to cook fish and then incorporate it into a plate of diverse and delicious food. YUM!!!If you are a wine fan, be trusting. There isnât a whole lot of choice of bottles, but what there is has been carefully chosen, and best of all it is reasonably priced. So, in conclusion, go and check out Kirsten and her wonderful crew and this lovely country restaurant. Whether you choose to eat outside or out, you can count on prompt friendly service and just a delectable dining experience. A âmust repeatâ for us.Thank you so much !

The Schipper Hus is a little jewel on Pellworm. It brings a cosmopolitan flair to this rural island. It is absolutely fantastic to enjoy a sundowner on the roof terrace with tasteful background music. The interior is very special, comfortable seats and good sized tables. The decoration, colour scheme on the walls and fabrics are well thought through and stylish. The lighting scheme could be improved and seems a bit provisional. There are cosy corners but also a long row of tables in the center. I find the tables around the gallery not so inviting, while the sofas upstairs are heaven (apart from the bright lightbulb sculpture - why not use a dimmer ?) The food is very good, always freshly prepared with ingredients of high quality. My favorite is the Cesar Salad with biological chicken - fantastic ! A must is also a portion of Chips - always deliciously crisp presented in such an original way....try it out ! The service is excellent - although, I personally do not go at the busy time as it gets a bit stressful and then the service naturally suffers. Also, when it is busy, there is a strong smell of food coming from the kitchen which made all my clothes and hair smell - that was not so nice. Apart from that it is a wonderful place to go to with friends, family or on your own. Once a month, after dinnertime, the tables get pushed aside and the chef turns into a DJ and plays great music to dance to - a buzzing night out !Dear 8Frida88 !Thank you very much for your very detailed review - this is much appreciated. It is always nice to get feedback, especially from local âPellwormersâ !We are very happy to hear that you did like the atmosphere and flair of the Schipperhus and that we could also convince you with our food offerings. Your comments in respect of the lighting have been well noted and will be discussed internally. Same goes for your observation about the strong smell coming from the kitchen during busy times. The kitchen is equipped with a sophisticated ventilation system which is there to avoid just that. We will surely be investigating this so that in future you as well as other guests will not be exposed to âcooking smellsâ from the kitchen. Since apologies for that.We are already looking forward welcoming you again back in the Schipperhus.Best wishes from the Schipperhus Team !
