Yet another awesome experience with Island Jeep Excursions! My family again loved driving around Anna Maria Island in style...with the top and doors off, the sun shining and the wind blowing. Great fun, plain and simple. Pick-up and drop-off was a breeze, too, in and out of Sarasota airport. This will continue to be our vehicle of choice when we visit this area!

We rented Captain Peter's 24' Hurricane deck boat on our first visit to the Longboat Key area last week. He made our rental experience smooth and enjoyable. He's very friendly and helpful—he gave us some great recommendations for restaurants and sites to visit, and navigational tips for Sarasota Bay and the gulf. He was ready and waiting when we arrived and at the end of the day. The boat itself was in excellent mechanical condition and sufficiently powered by a 250hp four-stroke outboard. Rental boats can be notoriously underpowered, but that was not the case here. This boat is longer and heavier than my 21' Regal deck boat back home in California that has a 270hp V8, so I expected to be disappointed—however I was not The holeshot was impressive and we easily cruised on open water above 35mph with four people and light gear on board. The onboard chart plotter and GPS worked great—I highly recommend watching Peter's video on YouTube prior to renting as it made navigating these unknown waters much easier. Cosmetically, the boat is aged with faded paint and upholstery that needs some TLC. But Peter acknowledged that up front and discounted the rental fee, saying it was going in soon for repair or replacement. We would've rented additional days but his boat was booked the rest of our vacation. A few days later we rented from Cannon's Marina and, although it was much closer to our hotel in Longboat Key, their 19' Grady White did not compare. Underpowered and much more finicky to maneuver. But that's for a separate review. Doing business with Peter was easy, too. I highly recommend him.
