If you like seafood, particularly oysters and shrimp, there is just no place better to go than here for freshness and flavor. Plus, if youâve a hankering for sole or salmon, buy it at the fishmonger next door and Brice or Sebastian (the owners) will prepare it for you (and serve it with their delicious rice) for 5â¬!! Their Mayonnaise and Aioli are house made and very good... and the feather light cloud of marscapone & whipped cream they serve with the house made apple tart is out of this world. They open early (7:30am) which is great because their coffee is really, really goodThis is a counter style cafe within a beautiful food hall and totally worth the visit if you are in town.

My wife and I went for a celebratory lunch on a Friday at the end of June. We ordered from the 33 euros a head menu and chose the foie gras mi cuit to start followed by a truly wonderful chicken breast with mushrooms and gambas. All was extremely tastySo far so good. We were a little surprised that there were no amuse Bouche given the fixed cost of the lunch but after the main course a strawberry smoothie arrived. âInter course cleanserâ we thought as I had ordered cheesecake and my wife had ordered financier. None of it , they had just forgotten our order. They offered us champagne the next time we went.We thought the outside terrace looked a bit edgy with wooden decking a la B&Q.Probably will not go again.Hello sir madam,We thank you for your comment and take into consideration your remarks. If you allow us, we hope to have the opportunity to turn the disappointment expressed in beautiful experience during one of your next trips to Angouleme and our teams are at your disposal. We wish you a pleasant dayCordially.

We live in France and decided to try Léon to celebrate my husbands birthday. The restaurant did not dissapoint. We chose the menu (just uner 12â¬) but added the extra 2⬠so we could choose a muscles dish of our choice. The starters is a buffet -nothing exceptional but a good choice. Our mains were: Moules avec roquefort, moules avec champignons, fish and chips, and a burger with rostis rather than bread.None of the main courses dissapointed, Beautifully presented, tasty and filling without being overful for dessert. We chose Gauffres and Cafe gourmandes for dessert and again were not dissapointed. The staff were friendly and attenful.Restaurant nicely decorated with a calm ambiance that I expect would change on busier days or nights and during tourist season. We will certainly go to this restaurant again.

And a new proprietor. We revisited this restaurant after being turned away from a nearby restaurant, in fact they urged us to go. Well with little choice we did and weren't disappointed. The new owners couldn't have been more helpful or friendly, in fact the service was even better than before. The menu was just as good and even for the children. Can't fault it.

My wife and I were so impressed with the set mid week lunch the last time that we went back at the end of August. It was still great! The set meal started with smoked salmon on whipped cream cheese set on a Bellini. Main course was a skewer of pork with wonderful vegetables. For dessert there is a choice. My wife ha a wonderful chocolate concoction and I had creme brûlée. We washed everything down with a jolly good Pinot noir from the Deep South. The bill was just over 60 euros with a tip and including an aperitif each. Does not get much. Better than that!Would I go again? Definitely - highly recommended for the set lunch. The owner speaks very good English, the decor is modern and the staff charming. What more could you ask for?
