We used to love walking our dog in the surrounding countryside and then lunching here. A superb pub and food.But it's changed hands and the first time back after that was a luke warm welcome and the atmosphere was not the same. Food was OK though.But then on Monday we went in at 12 to book a table for after our walk and was told that it would be no problem to fit us in on our return. We walked. We returned. We were told they were fully booked! I didn't even bother complaining to the obviously fed up staff. Not a happy place.So that is that, a real shame. We won't be returning.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch. Very busy, looked after and shown to table. Ordered drinks and looked at menu. Good selection, chose roast pork. The meat and crackling were very good,with roast potatoes but was rather lacking in vegetables, a few tiny pieces of carrot and a very small amount of cauliflower cheese. As place was busy didn't want to make a fuss and the meal itself was very tasty. The pudding was great as well, Eton mess. Well looked after by host but felt a little let down by lack of vegetables.Overall would recommend Sunday lunch.

Lovely pub, amazing service and delicious food.....but just not enough food! Ordered mixed roast today. Half a carrot, half a parsnip,small amount of cabbage abs 2 small slices of meat.

We took our family there for a roast It was a big disappointment to us all roast potatoes and parsnips undercooked the meat on all beef , lamb , pork fatty the cracking was like rubber all chewy red cabbage to much vinegar and where was the leaks tasteless not a good experience will not return Only positive was out waitress very smiley

This is a lovely Country Pub/Restaurant in the countryside some 5 minutes drive south of Oxted. The restaurant has great views over the fields. Good parking. The food is British/International, good quality and reasonably priced. The service is friendly and attentive. On warm evenings a drink on the terrace is a must. Best to book as it is popular.
