I have just left this pub with my wife as we where attending the christening of my neice's daughter. I ordered the food at 2:15pm and still not been served at 4:15pm.There was a lot in our party with children who also had not been served so they went next door to McDonald's. Many of our party ordered drinks on arrival only to be told they had non in stock. After ordering food we were told 90mins later that they hadn't got what we ordered instead of telling us at the time of ordering. They knew we were coming today as a large party yet still only had 2 young girls on serving both food and behind the bar. I felt very sorry for them as they were obviously upset but it wasn't their fault. Whoever manages this establishment needs to review how things are run. As like me, if other customers have the same experience they will never set foot in the place again.I ended up getting my money back (as did others) and went elsewhere.

Heard so much about this cosy, friendly local pub that is tucked away from the town centre. Had lunch on our 1st visit. Cannot fault anything. The welcome when you arrive is very warm and friendly, just like the setting of the pub/restaurant. The food was excellent, nice and hot with generous portions. I had the streak and ale pie, beautiful big chunks of steak, and my wife had the mushroom and pepper stroganoff with 50/50 chips and rice. Many thanks to all the staff, will be returning soon.

2nd time we have been here for a family gathering and I have to say the Staff are wonderful. Very attentive and professional. The good is lovely and we all had different options. I tried the Chicken Kiev and it was delicious and served with sweet potato fries and a side salad. The Hargreaves pale ale, is a lovely blonde ale and highly recommended.. Overall another good night, great company and being honest a slightly bad head this morning. We will no doubt be back.

We were staying close by on holiday and went for dinner. The pub looks fairly recently refurbished in a contemporary, comfortable style with tasteful and relaxing colours. Staff were welcoming.Food was excellent - an interesting menu. We only had main courses but they were great - a rich cheese and onion pie - seemed home made and the flat iron steak was very tender and succulent with hot crisp fries. The accompaniments were fresh and tasty.Good value - would highly recommend.
