Inspired by French cuisine and Parisienne bistro style. Cafe Rouge is your local bistro to enjoy delicious food and gorgeous glass of wine.
This wasnât our first time there and I have previously enjoyed it. Had a good welcome and a very pleasant waitress. Sadly it was down hill after that. Had to wait ages to be served and for the plates to be cleared away between courses. It took 3 hours to get through the 3 courses. The food was okay but unfortunately both my starter and mains were cold by the time we were served. The waitress realised I wasnât happy but I didnât want to kick up too much of a fuss and as she said, I would have had to wait a long time for my meal to be replaced. I also think the restaurant is looking very tired and rather âscruffyâ, it could do with a bit of TLC. All in all a big disappointment and it is very unlikely we will return.

A corner of France in the heart of Leamington Spa. Our style, the food, the atmosphere, the wine, is unashamedly French.
Went on a Tuesday night for their fixed âAubergeâ menu. Cosy atmosphere typical of an authentic French bistro (Cafe Rouge it is not, thankfully). Food and service both excellent and unpretentious and the place was packed for a Tuesday night. High Street restaurant chains could learn a thing or two about how to satisfy customers by doing things simply, but excellently. Starter (Ham Hock terrine) and main course (steak) both superb, washed down with a carafe of red wine and finally a lemon posset for dessert. Bill didnât break the bank and will definitely be back. Why canât there be more places like this?

Have eaten here three or four times in the past six months, most recently a few days ago. Lovely atmosphere, great (friendly, but also prompt and efficient) service, and delicious food. In the warmer weather, it is nice that they have the front windows open to the outdoor terrace. And I like that they automatically add on an optional service charge - Personally I much prefer this to leaving a 'tip'. (Although having a 'service included' price would please me even more!)

Went with friends who had chosen it, though who had not visited before.Service was ok, though I did not feel especially warmly welcomed.Food was alright, my steak was no better than average though - to be balanced - my dessert of chocolate fondant with pistachio ice cream was very good. My girlfriend's fish was ok, but again not exceptional. The place was busy, so clearly popular, but personally I would not go back on my next visit to Leamington Spa.
