At least 30 miles from Thermopolis, Legend Rock Petroglyph Site sits in the blazing sun. Be sure to wear hiking boots or covered shoes and bring water and your sense of adventure. It is said that some of the petroglyphs date back as long as 10,000 years. Because these amazing "glyphs" have been vandalized security cameras help protect the area. Ava's is a must if you like or love rocks. You learn so much by reading the educational signs posted near all the rocks inside and out. Eddie and Ava are SO knowledgeable and willing to share their expertise. They even encourage folks to bring mystery rocks in for an ID. It's a great place to find affordable dino treasures to send to the grandkids or jewelry made by Ava for yourself or friends.

Beautiful scenery from high mountains to winding roads along the river. Mountain colors change from gray to black to pink and red. Lots of pullouts for photo opportunities. We were fortunate enough to catch some nice foliage.
